Message 1327293 - Posted: 13 Jan 2013, 5:53:05 UTC - in response to Message 1327272.

I punched the update button 14 times in the past 30 minutes and finally got some work reported.

Yeah, contacting the Scheduler appears to be getting even more difficult than it has been.

Not that there's much point - the tape pool is empty so all we are getting are APs and resends.

Oh well we'll just have to wait until someone gets in and loads a few fresh tapes for us to play with. Until then its a case of sitting tight and consuming our caches...

Don't forget it's the AC repair tomorrow and Tuesday then I suspect the outage will be Wednesday, so may be Thursday before things return to "normal" or whatever passes for normal wherever you are.

There's always Seti Beta, because of the Stuck Splitter Bug they have 100 times more Wu's than normal, and very few users to crunch them, and with the Hurricane link only being lightly utilised downloads are very fast,

Well, bar the one AP I'm empty. My temperature output has dropped significantly, just as we have the first freeze of the year. Can't have that.
And of course, the zero RS back-up project I chose isn't highest priority yet, so it won't get work. ;-)

You never go to the Server Status page do you? It was obvious it was running dry last night.

My machine DLed ~ 1,000 SAH v7 WUs at SAH-BETA.

Current still 534,971 WUs ready for DL.

I remember reading somewhere that SAH beta doesn't work well with the latest Catalyst 12.11 beta drivers and it's a bit involved to down-grade. So that's why I'm not trying beta.

I can upload, but not report, cause My video card is failing, I'd like to remove it without switching the wu's to the cpu and I have cuda fermi wu's that haven't reported and I've tried. So I've set My PC to NNT, but after the last cuda fermi wu is reported, I can then shut down and physically remove that card, as the video driver crashes and My PC just locks up, that's how I found the PC this morning.

It looks like it will take someone on the staff resetting something. The Cricket graphs have gone south.

Likely won't happen. In the morning, everything goes offline for two days. I guess it's a way of "ramping down" before the outage.

Also, I don't know if you knew about this, but some time back (year+), Boincstats changed some things around and you have someone else's stats in your signature. You should head back over to boincstats and get the updated code for that.

And from the way the crickets appear... it looks like an early shutdown.. but SSP froze some time ago.. so things broke just in time to be shut down for two days. I'm just going to go ahead and set both of my machines to "network activity suspended."

With the air conditioning change over, plus other maintenance, plus dealing with what is likely to be a rather large backlog, plus trying to troubleshoot whatever problem is troubling at the moment, seems like we can expect that the collective dust won't settle until the end of the coming week.

well, I guess this is it... Servers are dead already, by the time it's morning at Berkeley they'll pull the plug for AC maintenance.

But at least I got enough WU's for Seti Beta to crunch, so no complaints here.

See you all on the other side ! Bye
