Are the pending units coded for priority?

I have the set by date because I have a bunch of Jan in queue

but it just finished a segment then started a new Feb segment.

Maybe I dont have something set right but every month there are a lot of

unprocessed segemnts because Boinc jumps ahead.

thanks
John

No. It is dependant on when your wingman finishes crunching.

DJuan: The not-yet-processed WUs in your machine (what I think you mean by "pending") are processed without reference to processing by other users. BOINC has its own algorithms for determining order.

When they are reported by your machine, they are granted credit when the other user(s) processing the same WU (your "wingman") reports it. Sometimes you have to wait some time for credit, other times (when wingman has already reported it) you get credit immediately.

I think what you're asking is why Boinc is processing units due in February ahead of ones due in January. The answer is that it does them in the order they were assigned (first in, first out). The due date is based on the time estimated for your host to complete them. Therefore, a unit that will take less time will have an earlier due date than a longer one that was assigned earlier.

The exception to this is if it thinks they won't get done in time; then it kicks them into High Priority.

Bottom line: there is no setting that you have wrong or that you can change. Just let Boinc do its thing and don't worry about it unless you see units consistently timing out.
