If I have a C drive and a D drive and I installed BOINC on drive D, does it follow that the files will be written on drive D?

If not can I somehow force it to use drive D?

*Yes.






*As long as D: drive is a physical or logical drive in it's own right & not mapped to the C: drive in any way- if you don't know what this means, then it won't be. It's something you would have to have done to set it up that way.

D drive is a drive by itself, not a partition of something.

C drive is about to be a SSD and will contain to the extent possible only operating system software. Everything else will be on drive D.

You need to set the Data directory to be on D: similar to this (mine is on H:)

I do remember telling the system to install BOINC on D but I don't remember an option about BOINC Data.

I just read the notice about a newer version and think I will install it.

Third screen in the installer:


Click Advanced to get to:


Change the path to the Data directory, then continue installation.
