OK, lots of good entries. I'm always amazed at the different directions people take in these.

Third place is a tie, with the theme I had had in mind:
Carlos with "What do you call a seat that costs less than standby?"
Skildude with "Some of the smaller carriers have taken shortcuts in safety. Not at Southwest Air, we provide alternate safety gear at no additional cost"

Heading in directions I wouldn't have thought, Chris gets 2nd place with "
Johns fantasy of bondage with a Stewardess, wasn't working so well ....."

And 1st place to Michael Roberts, with the totally unexpected "The 'cellists of the LSO now disguise their instruments as incapacitated passengers to get round stricter airline regulations."

PM going out soon.

The sign on the other side reads the same, and I have walked 55 Km just to get here...

But it's only 149 to the nearest cell tower.

I don't need an emergency phone now, but if there's no loo before then there is going to be an emergency!

Well that's about 24 hours and ten or so entries, so:::

Third place to John McLeod VII with "The sign on the other side reads the same, and I have walked 55 Km just to get here..." Reminds me of once in Orléans where I followed signs to the Temple Protestant all the way in a circle back to the first one without ever seeing the Temple Protestant itself.

Second place to Stupidest (and Shortest) Cruncher/Poster for good misinterpretation: "An emergency 174 km ahead? I wonder how they could they know that? Is it a state of perpetual emergency? Well, best to exit this highway before I go another 174 km on it, right?"

First place definitely goes to rob smith: "But I need the loo NOW!!!!!". PM on its way.

(update) I see this is the rather pleasing message number 1333331.

Well, I got in on Friday, and I was sitting down to lunch when the phone rang, and now its Sunday afternoon and I'm back in from work - what happened to Saturday? Al I know is I was meant to post something on Friday.
Michael, I'll have to pass this one over, as I'm going to get some sleep before going back to work (hopefully tomorrow morning, but the way things have been going this weekend who knows)
