"At least it arrived on time"

This isn't a caption entry, just another example of the same.

My web page about a postcard I once received.

I had an interesting experience with the USPS.

I was moving and had told my friends about my new mailing address, and had filed an official "Change Of Address" form with the USPS.

Some weeks after I moved into the new place I received a letter that was addressed to me at the new address.

It had a bunch of yellow stick-on labels the last of which said "No forwarding address on file. Return to sender."

So, after several weeks in processing, the post office finally delivered it to the only address on the envelope which was my new address.

Inside the letter was an invitation to a party a week in the past.

I had one college application that went missing for a month and a half. I finally saw a story about a mail truck that had gotten stuck in a snow storm in the mid west for a while - figured it was on that truck.

Yeah, I mailed a bunch of checks that must have been on that truck. Honest.

It only said:

Magnetic media: Keep away from magnets and magnetic fields.

It didn't say anything about "fragile, handle with care"

As long as you don't run the truck over it, it should be OK...

Sorry about the delay - I was in the process of judging when the outage hit...

Honorable mention to John McLeod VII for "It is possible to make cardboard origami." John, Nikon is now packaging some of their lenses in what I've heard called "corrugami" - folded corrugated!

Third Place to Carlos for "Thinking outside the box" A mailbox, I assume...

Second place to Soft^Spirit for "The postal service practices their full contact Origami"

First Place and next shot to Steve Neyer for "Mangled with care."

PM on the way...

All participants should be delighted to know that the item inside, a 72mm photographic filter, arrived safely, although the paperwork was a crumpled mess! The photo was taken as soon as I pulled this from my mailbox, in case I had to make a claim. I did wipe my address, though (this is posted on Flickr®)

Sir, the car ramp for the ferry is over there. This is strictly for pedestrians.
