Therefore in this case I and I am sure all the other military types will reject any wrong uses.[/quote]

Having never been Military, nor Paramilitary, I am going to go with the dictionary definition. It is the same thing.

Doctors
(A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is 700,000.
(B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000.
(C) Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171
Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept of Health and Human Services.

Guns
(A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000. (Yes, that's 80 million)
(B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, all age groups, is 1,500.
(C) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .0000188
Statistics courtesy of FBI

So, statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.

Nice stats, got links?

Diane Feinstein (Liberal Democrat) and Harry Reid (Liberal Democrat) have stated they've carried guns. If they can, why can't I?

Who hear has argued that you cannot carry a gun? If somebody has, did that same person argue that Diane Feinstein and/or Harry Reid should be allowed?
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ...

something else to consider is that calafornia and texas both are larger than most of the country's the us is being compared to and that is just 2, of 50 states as well as protectorate's

What impact do you believe population size has on a rate of firearm fatalities per 100,000 of the population? It seems to me an argument could be made on population density could have an impact, though has some of the comparison nations have higher, and others lower population densities than the US, so it does not appear to be the primary cause for the higher rate in the US.

WHEN ARE WE GOING TO INSIST ON CRAZY CONTROL?
http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=news/local/los_angeles&id=8933221
Woman sleeping on bus bench set on fire in Van Nuys
VAN NUYS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A homeless woman sleeping on a bus bench was set on fire in Van Nuys early Thursday morning, police said.

The incident happened around 1 a.m. on Van Nuys Boulevard and Sherman Way. Police said the suspect walked into a Walgreens store, bought alcohol, walked to the bus bench, poured the alcohol on the victim and set her on fire.

The suspect then ran from the scene, but a witness, Erickson Ipina, was able to chase him down.

"I was following him and then I pulled out my cellphone. I called 911 and he just turned back on me and pulled out a knife, and he told me, 'Stop following me or I will cut you,'" said Ipina.

But Ipina continued following the suspect until police arrived. Investigators said the suspect, whose identity has not been released, is not believed to be homeless. It's unclear if he knew the victim.

Officials said the woman was badly burned. She was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Message 1320509 - Posted: 27 Dec 2012, 19:23:19 UTC - in response to Message 1320434.

Using incorrect or "assumed" terminology when handling a weapon leads to accidental discharges--which could lead to death.

Responsible owners of firearms (knowing there are no do-overs when handling a weapon) learn the terminology.

People cannot be instructed how to handle a weapon safely if they do not first learn the proper terminology.

People who refuse to learn the proper terminology cannot handle a weapon safely and should not be allowed to own a weapon (let alone write laws about weapons).

---
And yes Gary, I agree with you.

Guy, I agree, terminology is important and in many more things than just firearms.

It would appear that all some here have is a aversion to the use of words. None have a real fix to the problem. So, the use of words are attacked as if that in and of itself is a fix to the problem. If your objection to the use of words is all you have then you have no fix to the problem and you become part the problem.

Mental health is not dangerous if it's addressed.

A firearm has never jumped up on it's own power and killed anyone.

So, who or what is dangerous?

Well the people who have a aversion to the use of words that describe the same object in question, example magazine and or clip, that is defined in the dictionary as being the same thing are dangerous to the liberties of a sane person. That is well defined by the posts here.

You have a serious problem with understanding concepts. That was not under the firearms own power.

If this is the case, then why are the US so against Iran having nuclear weapons?

After all, a nuclear bomb never jumped up on it's own power and killed anyone.

The moment ethics and morality are separated you have none of either. Fatwa is one result. The inquisition is another. The suspension of one because of the other. There is no suspension ever. They are identical.

this is dancers room mate

morals are what are taught to you by society/parents/religion

ethics is your own sense of right and wrong

most people i know and have talked to about this type of thing tell me that i am

a very moral person where as although i do consider myself ethical i am also an

amoral sob the morals of my society mean nothing to me only my own personal

sense of what is right and wrong do.
