Question is.... Victim or Freeman. Once the firearm is allowed in school, the student will stand to attention and learn. Guy wont snap, he will teach. The inner-city will snap to attention too. Solves more then one problem. Respect is back were it belongs, the ruler is no longer needed. |

Well it would improve behaviour wouldn't it? More threats? What is it with the right wing nuts on this forum that they have to resort to threats when they are losing an argument? Reality Internet Personality |

Well it would improve behaviour wouldn't it? I'm not right or left. I'm for the rule of law. That is not right or left either. |

Well it would improve behaviour wouldn't it? I WON the argument. And please stop trying to turn my rhetoric from words into 'threats'. I am sure all intelligent folks here on the boards know the difference between expounding my views and actually threatening ANYBODY. I said.....intelligent folks. I'm curious to know why so many people aren't in arms about alcohol (source is from the CDC)... No question booze kills far more than guns. The thing is, they see themselves using booze, they don't see themselves owning a gun. It really is that simple. Each requires a bit of self discipline to be practiced. Keep the booze/gun locked away from kids. Don't use the booze/gun when you aren't emotionally stable. Don't use the booze/gun without planning it first. Every booze safety tip has a corresponding gun safety tip and vice versa. <rant=light> Maybe they actually think that the results from the lace of self discipline seen in booze is far too high a rate for guns. Unfortunately that is the way they teach it in school, no self discipline is required. So they scream to ban. If they would just teach self discipline the kids would be much better off and so would society as they grow up to be the next generation of parents. But teaching self discipline went out in the 70's when teachers couldn't punish misbehavior and had to socially promote the hellions. Of course they tried to prohibit booze once. It didn't work very well. They don't realize that all prohibitions will fail. Booze failed. Blue laws failed. Obscenity laws failed. The war on drugs failed. Second amendment restrictions will fail. Prohibitions don't work. Once man knows how to make it, man will make it. Now if they would go for crazy control, that would make sense. But political process is about doing the most illogical nonsense thing possible. Simply see the fiscal cliff for a refresher course in politics. <rant=full blown> Why do we put up with strip searches just to travel? The risk is so remote it makes no sense. We hardened the cockpit. That made sense. The strip search? How long before we have to show papers at checkpoints every few miles when we are driving a car? As a society we are horrible at quantifying and comparing risk. For proof how many do we kill with booze and cigarettes? That is seen as a normal everyday risk, nothing to get crazy about. How many are injured by knives? Again a normal everyday risk. But mention a gun and people go more ballistic than the projectile! Look it is obvious our schools have totally failed to teach the skills necessary to be a part of a functional society today. Can't do risk math. Can't do self discipline. Can't do compromise. Can't do economics like a deficit. Can't recognize a ponzi scheme like entitlements. I don't care who is to blame. Fix the dang thing first. If you need to double homework, add two hours class time a day and make the school year longer by three weeks and need to charge parents with child abuse if their kids watch TV, then that is what it takes. Morons can't run this country, it requires more intelligence to be a responsible citizen. Wayne LaPierre is right about the media. Ever more shocking violent filth. Worse than porno. It is how they make a buck. Educate to resist this race to the bottom. </rant> |

And Gary we have now raised an intire genration of kids who play first person shooter games. Where every year the games get more realistic and gory. I have a nephew who I overheard tell his pals, I need to join the amry and go to Iraq and kill people. How many more teens are like him? And the nephew is a whack job who luickily has no acess to fire arms. And yes the copsknow about him. But they cant do anything untill.
Old James |

Question is.... What a stroke of genius. If a kid won't pay attention, Kashick... pow pow pow... "Now, who else doesn't know the square root of nine?" Righties are riding the crazy express to a place where teachers shoot children. It seems that inner city children (black kids) need special attention by ID's inclusion of them as a separate group that will snap to attention too. I do not fight fascists because I think I can win. Hey ID I thought you were a believer. Why are you promoting going against the will of your own god? If the invisible man in the clouds wants school kids dead, why do you want to put security in the way? God's will is god's will. We can do nothing to alter god's will, at least that's what believers in the cloud being accept as fact. I do not fight fascists because I think I can win. I fight them because they are fascists. The negative effects of booze/cigarettes/drugs are for the most part limited to the user, though there are secondary effects worth noting. Really? The negative effects of booze are for the most part limited to the user?! Try and tell that to MADD. The negative effects of drugs are for the most part limited to the user?! I suppose you haven't heard of a Drug Cartel |

No one wants to hear it though. I have a nephew who I overheard tell his pals, I need to join the amry and go to Iraq and kill people. How many more teens are like him? And we are shocked at Abu Gharib? And the nephew is a whack job who luickily has no acess to fire arms. And yes the copsknow about him. But they cant do anything untill. That is the great failure of American psychiatric medicine. Unable to do anything at all until the criminal justice system tosses them into prison. |

Most alcohol related deaths are those of the user. The incidence of innocents dying due to driving while intoxicated is a small fraction of the total, yet still too great a number. I pasted this part of your post. That is not true at all. When a drunk gets behind the wheel he most ofetn lives after killing his passengers or the occupants of the other vehicle. Every week on the news we hear about another drunk killing someone while driving. To bad it just wasnt the jerk who was driving drunk that got killed.
Old James |

Sorry but your post stated that drunks only kill them selves. That is not the case at all. I did learn that most drunk drivers do die in the accident but they take the innocent with them. And we are getting off topic. So mark if you want, red X any post you feel does not belong.
Old James |

Guns in schools? How about guns in churches? It was probably her own fault for not believing in the right god. Reality Internet Personality |

Drug cartels don't use drugs to kill the innocent, they use guns. They use profits from prohibitions. Same as when liquor was prohibited. So if you want more killing prohibit more items. |
