Have a Merry Christmas!

And the same seasons greetings back to you my good Sir :-)

@Julie - needs a little pinch of salt I think. Have the buildings ruins been carbon dated to 200,000 BC? if they have, then that really is amazing. But given the site, you do wonder.

If you were an ET, and you were here in the past, you might likely want to leave some sort of message, to tell people in the future of your visit. But you also might want to do that in such a way, that they wouldn't be able to find it or decipher it, until they were advanced enough to fully understand the implications.

So what would you leave behind???

If there was such life that could travel and or, manipulate the fabric of space time to move great distances, what makes you think they would stop off here?

Mark also has the RIGHT to believe. I have no problem with that. I do have a problem with you uncaring, selfish, mean-spirited, cliquish, pieces of dung making sport of Mark. Had this be done in the hallways of my school when I was a child in my teens Id have dropped you all and took the fives days off. Never did I treat anyone this way nor did I allow it.

For the above reasons advanced life would not have stopped off here.

As to the question if I was advanced life what would I leave behind so the life left behind would find us....

No worries, mates.

I am used to having a bit of dung flung my way now and again, seeing as how more than a few of my opinions are at times 'out there'.

If I were truly offended, I would not post those opinions in the first place.

But I also find at times that more people than I might suspect find some of my ideas and opinions interesting and food for further thought on their part. And it's because of them that I continue to share what I think with all of you.

May you all continue to have a great holiday season, and may the coming New Year see us all healthy and happy and interested enough to continue our search here at Seti.

I'll keep my boots on as I wander through the cow pasture.

Well Setizens, I am happy to say publicly that I support ID's defence of Mark. Our Kittyman has his demons to contend with, and occasionally rightly goes on vacation for specific actions which he is fully aware of. The boundaries are there for good reason and will remain in place. But he has also done much good here as well. Hence the entry in my sig which I don't usually use in the Politics forum.

Wondering if that Killroy dude was an alien...;)

No, serious now...I'd leave a message of love quite clear and easy to find.

Remember how well it went for the Native Americans when the Europeans discovered America?

I reckon it will go pretty much the same way if Alien Intelligence every finds us.

Fortunately its highly unlikely that there is any intelligent life near enough to make it here.

We don't know that for sure Es. There are a few star systems fairly close that are now being said to have habitable planets. If they have the means to use faster than light travel, which Einstein may have got wrong, then who knows. You cannot rule it out.

Define highly unlikely?? Not likely in my or your lifetime, but further on, yes quite possible.

@Julie - I still believe they were here before.

Habitable planets does not necessarily equal intelligent life. Remember, this planet has not have intelligent life on it for most of its history.

No, it is highly unlikely. Even further on, unless there is some sort of FTL travel, we won't be getting any visitors.
