In todays Guardian there is a story - Why the US media ignored Murdoch's brazen bid to hijack the presidency. That says the Owner of News International, who has had to close the News of the World in the UK over the phone hacking scandal, tried to get Fox News which is his US News Channel to get Gen. David H. Petraeus to stand for the Republican nomination. The main worry is that the Washington Post who broke the story, and who apparently have a digital recording of the conversation, didn't put it on their Front Page. They consigned it to the Style section. WP - Style - Fox News chief’s failed attempt to enlist Petraeus as presidential candidate I don't understand this, anybody got idea's why NI and Fox are not facing shutdown asap. |

Catering to the lowest level of people in this country he could convince and buy their votes. The takers. Those who were quite content to take his handouts and not ready to get off their arses and work for a living. The public dole. His supporters. His vote. The WORKING man in this country is going to flex their muscle soon. They are NOT going to continue to take Obama's Robin Hood attitude. He shall some day soon have to grapple with the fact that it's not 'The problem is we have too little income', but that he cannot go around splashing cash at his minority support groups at the expense of those who really make this country run. It's not that the government has too little income, it's that they spend too much. Best not to get me going right now. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Those states unless I have been told some very big porkers are Republican states. Therefore I have to conclude that Obama did not buy the presidency, he financies the Republican voters. |

I am not going to turn this into another stupid argument between liberals and conservatives. You know dang well what the numbers on the last election are. They have been sorted and posted by now. Obama bought this election by catering to the have nots. By promising them all he could by buying them favors with tax dollars from the haves. We, who spend our time working for a living are getting more and more tired of Obama's thinking that that is a wedge to put between us and those who HE supports. The working class of this nation is going to rise up soon. That was made quite evident by the divide in the last election results. We cannot, and shall not continue to take his taxation abuse much longer. Mark my words. Meow. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Mark, the federal tax rate is the lowest it has ever been in your lifetime. The bebt has not. The government is still trying to extract taxes they cannot pay for......... OUTgo simple is in excess of INgo........And that's how Obama wishes it to be. His final outcome is that we are a totally liberal state. The government has all, and doles out to those they think worthy. At some point, he has to give up the point that without enough taxpayers to contribute to his plan, he has crappola. Do you debate that point? "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

To get back on topic. I would not be at all surprised if he did. There's circumstantial evidence that the conservatives in in England "owe him a few favours" and in Australia the Murdoch press, particularly his national broadsheet, has been running a hate campaign against the current government and Prime Minister for years. It's not quite as hysterical as Faux News but you can see the similarities. This is a man with a lot of money and a lot of clout. The fact that gormless politicians around the world are so anxious to brown nose up to him shows this. Remember he was even able to arrange a meeting with the leaders of the Chinese government a few years back (to their credit, they politely told him where to go). I thought years ago that the attacks and "scandal ragging" on the British royal family by the Murdoch press over the last couple of decades was merely to demonstrate to politicians how much power he had. Afterall, if he could bring an institution like them into disrepute, imagine what he could do to your average politician. There is a reason why some refer to him as "The Sun King" T.A. |

Mark, the federal tax rate is the lowest it has ever been in your lifetime. Are you asking at what date and time the populous shall stage their revolt? I cannot tell you that.......I am not their leader in that. Dammit, you and other folks have put words into my mouth. I said that I thought a revolution was possible, not that I was instigating one........ What is it you want from me? The truth or some lies? Guns......more the better. NRA.....lifelong member. Mark, I ask the question again, how are these responses relevant to taxes? You brought the subject up. I quote, "We cannot, and shall not continue to take his taxation abuse much longer." |

In the meantime, stand back, I am flexing my muscles. |

Mark, I ask the question again, how are these responses relevant to taxes? You brought the subject up. I quote, "We cannot, and shall not continue to take his taxation abuse much longer." You would not dare to ask me that, once the tables were turned. I find it quaint that those of you who have the least to lose raise the most questions about my motives. I am a patriot. Not and instigator, or a rebel. I only wish my country, tiss of ME, continue to be the best that it can. We did it once, and we may again have to. The rest of the world considered us 'upstarts' at the time..maybey still so. But I shall not give up those rights awarded to me by the founding fathers. Pry that from my cold, dead fingers. King George could not......and neither can any of you. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Kent State shootings was really bad. Should have took away the government guns, reckon? Reckon it's just who happens to be president at the time, reckon? The government taxed us back then just to shoot kids at a school. |
