I just got logged out of my main and Beta account. Nothing I did on my end as I was doing some Christmas shopping. Haven't check other projects. Anyone had the same problem? I have been to both here and beta in the last couple of minutes and was still logged in on both sites. ____________

No issues here. Perhaps the logoff of the shopping site deleted all your cookies?

I've had that happen here before and on other forums. Some sites let you choose how long to stay logged in for, which is controlled by the cookie for that site. For the sites that don't let you choose that and is just assumed "forever," forever isn't actually forever. Usually it is 30, 60, or 90 days. Sometimes even 180 or more.

I still have a printed page with all my passwords in case of a system crash. I had to use it on the last few days. Almost every of my 7 projects asked for my password before letting me in. I had a similar experience with Linkedln where I was "drafted" by some friends. I entered my password and it asked me to read a few handwritten letters. After the third account I gave up. Not even my bank asks me to read anything.

This happens to me too every few months and I think I've posted it before...

Last night one of my crunchers asked me to log in, but I rarely use any of the crunchers for checking my account (I usually do that at work) so it's possible I'd never done it before with that browser on that machine.

Just after one of the recent Windoze updates I found I had been logged out of all sorts of things, including both S@H and S@H-Beta, really frustrating as trying to remember all the various uids, passwords, funny phrases and so on was really frustrating.

I had to log in again recently. Looking over my cookies they are set to expire on 2013-06-29. So I expect I will have to log in again at that time.

For these BOINC forums, the "Stay logged in" cookie is good for exactly 365 days. Joe

Been happening to me for several months. As a test, I disabled Win updates on wife's machine & left mine enabled yet hers remained unaffected. Dec's patch Tuesday knocked mine out again. Enabled updates on wife's & bingo, had to re log in to many sites from hers. Thanks M$. ____________

I always have to log in, but only have to enter the first caracter of my Log-In name. (IIRC you can set this in your browser, remember name and pw). Long before the latest security-updates on WIN XP, also WIN 7. (22-12-12). (And the Cookie-warning). ____________ Knight Who Says Ni N!, OUT numbered.................
