That's a new one on me. I'm used to thinking of poppets as valves.

I like mushrooms in omelets and on pizza and steak.

I know I might be banned for posting this.......

Or even worse, for interrupting you flowus of thougtus.

But consider this, just once.

What are the words you so bandy about?
Thoughts, really.

I, for one, have never been shy about using all or any of the words available to me.

They are an expression of my being, and like it or not, are something I have to express at times.

The 'n' word is a perfect example.

I have been chastised for using it, even in reference.
And that galls me.-----

I cannot even quote Mark Twain???????

There's several other meanings to poppet, but all seem to derive from a marionette.
However FWIW the Wikipedia entry for poppet valve begins
"A poppet valve (also called mushroom valve) is a valve typically used..."

The Bledowska Sands are the largest (in Central Europe) accumulation of loose sand away from any sea, deposited thousands of years ago by a melting glacier.[1]

During the Second World War, the area was used by the German Afrika Korps for training and testing equipment before deployment in Africa.

You would think it would be in the Oxford, then.
