hi there - if i change my file transfer size to 1024 megabytes every 10 days that means that a total of 1 GB of work will be done every days, right (approx 3GB per month)? we have a internet usage cap and we do a lot of downloading of other stuff and this month after getting back into seti@home we went over our cap (oops). so i'm hoping this will work to limit.

hi there - if i change my file transfer size to 1024 megabytes every 10 days that means that a total of 1 GB of work will be done every days, right (approx 3GB per month)? we have a internet usage cap and we do a lot of downloading of other stuff and this month after getting back into seti@home we went over our cap (oops). so i'm hoping this will work to limit. That is what it is for. The idea is that you can set the usage to match what you can afford from your cap for BOINC projects. If the amount of data that you can afford is 3GB / month, you can set it for 3GB (3072MB) every 30 days, or 1GB every 10 days, or 100MB every day. However, some projects such as CPDN can have very large files that are transmitted on rare occasions (CPDN tasks take a month or more to complete on even the fastest machines, but the upload is 700MB). ____________ BOINC WIKI
