Try setting the app's Priority to Normal, or Above Normal, at present it is set to Below Normal:

Message 1317130 - Posted: 19 Dec 2012, 14:49:00 UTC - in response to Message 1316927.

I have downloaded the x41zc files linked earlier in this thread.

Since I did not have a prior Lunitics version, I do not have the referenced files to copy and paste to.

Any help is appreciated.

Here is the app_info.xml that I made for running x41zc and the Astropulse GPU application that downloads by default from the Seti project servers if this project and GPU support are enabled. Both apps are running good for me via my GPU. The file does not have any CPU apps in it currently.

Ah, thanks. That sounds like exactly what I will need for my new GT 630, once the CPU finishes the work and I let the machine get new work again.

Thanks for the explanations on the average and max cpu settings. I changed them in my app_info, but they do not seem to really make a difference. Of course, I always have 2 GPU tasks running, which is what I have my setup to run, so maybe that is why.

Also, I am not a xml expert, but don't you just use the <app_version> section you are using in your xml file? I see many examples with multiple entry's, which I had assumed were examples and I just pared mine down to one, which seems to be running fine. I pasted it below for example:

<app_info>
    <app>
        <name>setiathome_enhanced</name>
    </app>

The xml format used at BOINC and SETI is not standard and in fact if you edit those files with an XML editor probably the result file wont be usable as it will be reformated...

You need one app_version section for each version of the apps you run, the app_info you posted is running only the MB app for cuda so only one app_version section...
If you were using other apps (MB for CPU, AP for CPU or GPU, you will need to add other app_version sections (along with other file references and other sections)

For total manual install that's correct, and the way I run personally.

When you do either automated or semi automated installer based distribution, basically you find out the hard way that anything short of covering every version & platform results in *someone* losing tasks, mostly due to subtle changes in the way people customised their installations in the past. so the supplied 'aistubs' use that non-minimalist approach.

Alright, thanks for the info. Currently, I just want to run the GPU app so I think it is good for my current needs.

I don't use anything to edit the xml except good ol' Windows notepad.

I've searched both the seti/boinc sites and lunatics and haven't so far found a copy of cuda x-41g. I've also not been able to find jason's x-41zc. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I'm using xp64 in most machines and xp 386 on 1
Processors in use are i7 960, core 2 quad and lga775 p4 ht
Fermi gtx 470s, a gtx 560, 1 gt9800 and 1 tesla c1060

From what little I've read You won't find x41g online, and I've looked, all cause of a licensing problem. Now if one is using a 64 bit Windows OS, Lunatics_Win64_v0.40_setup.exe would work, but it's not available, the only files available don't have any installer and are here, some are 32bit and some are 64bit, the files do have a stub file that can be renamed to app_info.xml from MBCuda.aistub, but You'll have to be aware as to what's there and what's not.

Use Google, when i tried x-41zc it was the 2nd link, and when i tried it as the proper x41zc it was the 5th link, and Jason's already posted the link earlier in this thread.

Google didn't find the lunatics installer anywhere, oh sure text references, but none of them are download links.

You can't get the Lunatics installer, the Cuda apps aren't affected by the licencing concerns, so you can get those,

I"m currently running Lunatics_Win64_v0.40.
I downloaded from Crunchers Anonymous x41zc_Winx64_cuda32, x41zc_Winx64_cuda42 and x41zc_Winx64_cuda50. It looks like I'll need to use the x41zc_Winx64_cuda42.
Do I rename mbcuda.aistub to app_info.xml & drop all files in the project directory?

Also I am running the seti 6.10.60 client on all computers. Hope there is no conflict there.

You can do that, but before You do that, how many wu's do You plan on running? Since you'd need to modify the following in that stub file, if You want to run more than 1 wu per gpu: <count>1.0</count> to <count>0.5</count>

From what little I've read You won't find x41g online, and I've looked, all cause of a licensing problem. I'm currently running 1 work unit per GPU. I've tried 2 in the past after trying the SetiPerformance64.exe which suggested the gtx 560 & 560Ti could do it. After a couple of weeks I saw no performance gain and went back to 1 wu/gpu
The gtx 470s and the tesla were not rated as practical for 2 or more/gpu.
I'll have to look over the old xml anyway as there may be other changes.

Thanks a lot for the help!

That's probably due to the lack of available work & outages.
I have a GTX 560Ti & a GTX 460.
Running 3 at time does more WUs per hour than running 2 at a time, although not a lot more. Running 2 at a time though does significantly more WUs per hour than just running one.

According to the boinc statistics graph mine were steadily losing ground crunching 2/gpu. The plain 560 died recently so the only one capable of running more/gpu is an asus 560Ti on which I have to downclock the memory a little to keep things stable. I replaced the dead 560 with a 470.

When did you start crunching 2 at a time?
End of October my RAC went in to a freefall due to the lack of work. Dec 26 it hit it's highest point since the end of October (but still less than what it was). Since Dec 26 it's dropped like a stone again, once again due to the lack of work. It's just the last 3 or 4 days it's started climbing again, but it has a long way to go to get to the pre October levels. A very long way.
