I am receiving this message from BOINC 7.0.28 (x86): 2012-12-09 06:42:26 | SETI@home | Message from server: SETI@home Enhanced needs 32.00MB more disk space. You currently have 0.00 MB available and it needs 32.00 MB. I am now unable to download any work units. My settings include:
Leave at least 5.00 GB Use at most 10% of disk space

Restart BOINC and read the top of the message log. There should be a bit more information about why it is being limited. BOINC WIKI |

Use at most 10% of disk space 10% of 320GB is 32GB. You only have 26GB free. That's your problem. Either free 6GB of space, preferably more of course, or set your preferences more lenient. |

Thanks, but I changed the settings to the following: "Use at most 1.00 GB" --I'm using under 0.030 GB (sum of 3 BOINC directories, 0.77 MB, 15.4 MB, and 7.4 MB. I have no tasks downloaded.) "Leave at least 5 GB free" -there is 56 GB free "Use at most 5% of total disk space" --there is 17% free (56 free out of 320 GB), so even if the last item above means leave 5% of the disk free, I should be within that constraint, yet I still get this message: 2012-12-09 14:14:27 | SETI@home | Message from server: SETI@home Enhanced needs 32.00MB more disk space. You currently have 0.00 MB available and it needs 32.00 MB. Any other ideas? |

Depends on where you actually set the preferences. If here at Seti, but you've (once) set local preferences, then you can continue to change the web-preferences till your fingers see green, but the local preferences continue to be used by BOINC. It's because the local preferences override all the same web-preferences. Disk settings can be set in local and in web-preferences, thus when you set local to be used once, they'll continue to override the newly set web-preferences. Now, with all that out of the way, to see if you're using local prefs, either check your start-up messages, there should be a line stating "Reading preferences override file". or your BOINC Data directory, there should be a global_prefs_override.xml file there. |

I uninstalled BOINC and reinstalled it, then it started working again. Thanks for your help! |
