So with the downtime we recently had, I got it in my head that I should start crunching temporarily for other projects. This lasted for a day or so before I felt dirty and stopped said stand-by crunching. Your thoughts? (Let 'em rip!) |

No need to feel bad. So long you return everything is fine. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

Oh my. Look at my .sig Am I horrible? The differences you see are not what the %'s are set to. Not all projects have GPU apps or can use the GPU cards in the machines I have. |

Hmmm, not entirely true Gary. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

Hmmm, not entirely true Gary. Well, LHC doesn't have a lot of work, but you also don't have a clue what the %'s are set to. |

Feeling dirty NO. Other projects are my friends, especially Zero. Pluto will always be a planet to me. Seti Ambassador Not to late to order an Anni Shirt |

Do I feel guilty? Not one bit. The project has had severe problems. The loads on the machines has compounded them. I am EAGER to return. In force. But I think a slow return is actually very helpful right now. I will start switching back in about 4-5 days. If it had been summer, I would probably have just turned the crunching off. Since it is winter, well honestly I have not had my heat on yet. Computers are keeping me nice and toasty. Janice |

I don't feel guilty either. SETI will always be where my heart is, but I will crunch other projects in the meantime. Gotta keep the CPU's busy here, no GPU's yet. LOL I'll probably kick things back onto SETI in about a week, I figure let things settle down a bit here, before coming back. |

The kitties are right now crunching Einstein on all their GPUs due to the GPUUG being in a crunching challenge there for a few more days. The CPUs are all doing Seti, and the GPUs shall attempt a return when the challenge ends, if the servers are willing to cough up enough WUs. You can see from my sig that I have dabbled in a few other projects over the years. But you can also see that the kitties call Seti home. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting."
