The following refers to BOINC in "Advanced View" (not Simple View).

I downlownded BOINC yesterday and enrolled in SETI@home....After enrolling, I was given 24 projects with different due dates amd I let my computer process them most of yesterday until midnight then got up again at 5 a.m. and started again. It's finally processed all 24 projects and under "Tasks" in the BOINC Manager it shows "100% Ready to Report" under PROGRESS/STATUS next to each Task.

Here's my problem: I'm assuming once all tasks are completed, BOINC AUTOMATICALLY sends the data back to the server that assigned it. I do not see any way for me to MANUALLY send the data myself. In the BOINC Manager under the "Projects" tab, under "Work Done" it says "0.0" and also under STATUS its saying "Communication Deferred XX:XX:XX" (where XX is a unit of time).

Am I doing something wrong or is there something else I need to do? I have 24 projects completed and ready to send but I don't see a way to manually send them and the automatic feature says deferred for some reason.[/img]

There is a problem with the servers just now. They have decided to join the rest of the USA by taking an extended holiday :-(
If you keep an eye on the "server status" http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sah_status.html page you might see when they come back to life, but the current prognosis probably not this side of the weekend.

Yes, it is done automatically. BOINC reports work at the first of:

1) 24 hours since completion.
2) 24 hours before report due.
3) "Maintain enough work for X days" before report due.
4) immediately upon the completion of upload if it is later than any of 1 - 3.
5) With any other work report.
6) With any work request.
7) On a trickle up report. (Selected projects only)
8) On a trickle down report. (Selected projects only)
9) On a server scheduled connection request. (Selected projects only)
10) On a BOINC Account Manager requested connection. (Only if you are using an Account Manager - BOINCStats or Grid Republic).
11) When 64 or more tasks are ready to report (available in a later release)
12) When the use pushes update.
