Can we keep to the topic of "Thankful for...", and not head off into the long grass of digression.

Good luck isolating the scheduler problem. ;)

I wonder, if any of the users actually find an extraterrestrial broadcast, would he or she be notified? ;)

Also, I heard Dr. Michio Kaku. Theoretical Physicist from the New York University,MA talk about maybe we're searching in the wrong way (narrow-band), so that the frequencies we search are narrow-banded,and that we need a better broad wave algorithm for the data from the radio-antennas. Is this true? And is it possible to do something about this problem, so that searches will be more effective etc in the future? ;-)
Happy hunting, fellow believers!

Best regards from
Chiron,

The signal capture software is capable of stepping though multiple fq. if tracking the same spot in the sky for vary long however the clients cant handle this yet.this has been fine up to now because Arecibo can not track, but green bank will early next year also green bank will be targeting planetary systems with planet's in the Goldilocks zone increasing the chance of finding e.t. signal by thousands of times so if you have been squirreling away nickels and dimes for a god cause now is the time!

May be time to add a new gpu newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150561
for $150 they had a similar card for 119 a day or two age.
Just save your penny's and wait for a good sale my numbers were under 1,000,000 until a month and a half ago.
And it will always be cheaper later, good crunching to you.
Also if grandparent tell grandchildren need new video card conversely if grandchild tell grandparent need new video card.
and if you look a use hd5570 can be had for less than $25 and it has 400 streaming processors may not keep up with my hd6870 with 1600 but 4 will come close happy, shopping season.
AND AS ALWAYS TO ERIC AND THE GANG MANY THANKS FOR ALL THE HARD WORK.
AND GIVE US A WISH LIST MAYBE WE CAN MAKE YOUR SEASON A LITTLE HAPPIER!

The response from first time posters has been amazing here.
Might I ask you to also consider the 84 cents a month fundraiser....

Could a seti-message be hidden amongst the server crashes? Could they be morse-like code (e.g. long crashes vs short crashes)?

I donated twice this year but they don't appear on my stats page. Both in response to emails received.

I thought I might post my first here too. Funny enough, if you want to call it that, I started receiving new work units at around last midnight UTC, so 22 hours or so ago. Well done, working that hard on a weekend! There are still some intermittent logs of the server not being available, but al in all, I have meanwhile received quite a few more. True, the vast majority of them very short ones, but at least there is again some Seti stuff to crunch.

While it didn´t happen, my CPUs have been dealing with some Einstein and Milkyway WUs; there´s always someone happy somewhere.
