Stay at home, Eric...
It's Thanksgiving today !
The turkey, unlike laboratory SETI, can't wait !
Thanks for the info.
But who will win ? Houston or Detroit (NFL) ? 1 minute to play !
Happy Thanksgiving to all Americans from the French !

Enjoy turkey day first, but considered posting a wish list when you get back to it. if we know what you need we can start moving levers to get it to you.

Well, it's back up partially. Something upstream is restricting connections, and we'll need lab network support people to figure it out.

Fortunately, our Thanksgiving party doesn't start until 4:30pm, so I'm not missing anything but football.

I've been having problems connecting to US sites such as time-C.timefreq.bldrdoc.gov, inter alia. I was starting to wonder if a "foreign power" was taking advantage of your ultra-long weekend to mount a DoS attack on your national infrastructure...

Anyone who could leave the smells from Angela's kitchen to do such a thankless job is super human.

Happy Thanksgiving my friend.

Well, my flexibility apparently didn't get us more than a few hours of uptime. Hopefully we'll have some tech help at the lab tomorrow (although since it is a University holiday, I'm not sure that we will.)

We shall wait Eric, we shall wait :) The Earth will not stop rotating on December 21 ! ;) I think everyone understands the problem of availability in this period of American holiday. And nobody could question your availability. The match Houston/Detroit was full of suspense ! :)

Is this reason I can not up load my finished work and down load new? If so when will it be fixed I have CPU's sat idle and in 4 hours there will be 8.
As a newbie , please could you let me know and probably others how long will it take to get the system back up and running?

Couple of things.....
Yup...the servers are down right now due to a crash.

You might want to keep the Cricket Graph link bookmarked for reference when having trouble. You can see the bandwidth usage has dropped off to almost nothing, so that will tell you that the problem is not on your end.

Also, Eric has posted earlier in this thread that he does not know if he can get any tech support today.....so it's possible it could be Monday before things get back on track, dunno yet.

Ha! I've got a family of 4 racoons and 2 cats. I go through a 20 lb. bag in 3 to 4 days. The cats sit at the storm door, watch the coons, and the coons guard their food while they eat. It's a riot to say the least.

Funny you should say that, in about 1970 I was working at a GM plant and a raccoon got into one transformer and chewed on the wires putting 4000 of us out of work for a day. The raccoon on inspection was hairless but believe it or not was still alive (well up to that point). That thing took 2500 volts. :O
