According to the stats it has 5000+ tasks in progress but in reality there are only about 150 tasks running or waiting to run. Add in the pending, valid, inconclusive, invalid and errors tasks and I'm still short about 5000 tasks. I find it hard to believe that I have that many "ghosts".

Any ideas or suggestions?

We all have ghosts in the machines but you have a compleate batallion!

Now seriusly, something realy wierd hapens few moments ago at the lab side, have I no ideia what happening at this time, is Thanksgivin Holiday in the US so could take some time to realy find what happening, "could" be realted to what you are experimenting.

Lets take a beer or two and wait for the entire system returns and look again after that if the problem remains.

Something seems amiss, alright. I was perusing my "validations pending" list this morning and happened across computer id # 6712586. It claims to have over 11,000 tasks in progress - lots of them assigned on 11/18/12, while the 100 limit was in place.


Maybe while Eric was attempying a fix?

I had 5000+ ghost units as well. Since I decided that I'd rather crunch for other projects until the current issues are resolved, I purposely abandoned them rather then have them timeout over the next few weeks. This was at a time when I couldn't reach the scheduler or download server for days. Now that these issues are (partially?) resolved you might just as well sit back and relax, the ghosts will be resent eventually.

I picked up over 3000 ghosts on the Great Gorging of Nov. 4. Still working through them. About 200 timed out a couple of days ago.
