About a week ago I started to get 5 tasks (noted as lost tasks being resent). I then get an error message indicating missing coprocessor. At first I get a message: app version needs open CL but GPU doesn't support it. before the error message I get: App version uses noexisten ATI GPU. I have been running this application using 3-4 of my processors 24 hours a day since I got this machine a few years ago. I continue to depleat my available list of tasks (now down from 5 screens of tasks to about 1, and will soon have nothing to process. I do not know of any changes I have made that might cause this to happen. I am on a Windows 7 desktop and enjoy this function, but don't know how I can continue if I only get these 5 missing tasks and nothing else anymore. Can anyone help me with this please. Only though I have now is to delete BOINC totally from my machine and re-install. I did reinstall this morning, but did not delete and am still getting the same issue. Is there a possible download of a GPU that would let me move forward if I install? Any help is appreciated. Ian Fraigun (IJFraigun@netscape.net) |

On SETI web has my PC (ID: 6258002) 23 active units but in reality my BOINC manager doesn't see any. |

Ian, Ran into the same thing a while back...installed this and it cleared it up for me. However, I am running nVidia so don't know if that makes a difference for your situation. At least it is worth a try...maybe the ones who know could followup on this... Mark http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_7.0.36_windows_x86_64.exe |

About a week ago I started to get 5 tasks (noted as lost tasks being resent). I then get an error message indicating missing coprocessor. AMD has deprecated OpenCL support for XP from Cat 12.2 drivers, so the last Catalyst drivers you can use is Cat 12.1 ATI Driver Version Cheat Sheet Claggy |

Thanks for the information. I will note if needed in the future. After a week somehow I finally got those five tasks to load. They are AstroPulse and of course will run a good long time. Now still getting no tasks available for SETI, but that often happens and I know over the next few days all of a sudden 30-70 new SETI tasks will download to my computer. Appreciate the information and help. Guess the maintenance they did the past few days cleaned this one up for me. Ian Fraigun |

Keep in mind, Ian, that at present no new work is being split. Only work going out are reissues and possibly some ghosted tasks. We don't know how long it will be before the database is cleared out enough that they shall consider starting to split new work. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

I am running catalyst 12.11 and had to download the sreaming sdk from amd to get the opencl based clients to work. amd is distenceing itself from opencl now that nvidia supports it I guess that we need to let amd know we use this so they will put it back and maybe we can get them to help in the writing of client as well if enough pressure can be brought to bare. |

AMD has laid off 15% of their workforce, i doubt you'd be able to convince them to start supporting a 10 year old OS again, they are still supporting OpenCL on Win Vista, 7 and 8, Claggy |

Also in April 2013(if I'm remembering correctly) Microsoft stops all support for XP even for critical bugs. No more patches of any type for Win XP. So AMD stopping XP active support is not so strange. |

Extended support ends April 2014. They have been cutting support for it for some time now. Recently they removed the ability to obtain a WHQL logo for drivers for XP, also Vista. if anyone cared. Also AMD isn't moving away from OpenCL. They simply made the choice to stop developing it for XP. OpenCL support is supported in newer OS's. IIRC 12.2 & 12.3 can be used but you have to install 12.1 first. SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

amd is distenceing itself from opencl now that nvidia supports it LOL, those conspiracy theorists. What do they come up with next? :-D If that were true, you'd never had OpenCL support on any AMD cards, as Nvidia was the first with functioning OpenCL support for all their GPUs. See the Khronos Group time line for products supporting OpenCL. |

OK so I wanted XP gone sooner than it is really going to be gone by one year. I knew it was looking wrong when I posted that post but was too tired last night to look it up. I knew it was in April but had the year wrong. Thanks you for politely correcting me. |
