I believe that the actual information, at least what I have read as of a few hours ago, is that the authorities have been contacting all the neighbors to learn what information anyone might be able to provide that could help the investigators. This is common in any murder investigation, and does not imply guilt on anyone involved.

As is usual, the news media has picked up on the fact that McAfee is unavailable at this time and, for sensationalism, implied this means he is guilty. After all, "wanted for questioning" means just that, i.e., the authorities want to learn what, if anything, he might know about the crime. In reality, some criminals do run, while some come forward and gladly answer questions in the hope of steering the investigators in the wrong direction. Likewise, some innocent people are, for various reasons, not available to, or even unwilling to talk to investigators.

Let us please remember that, in a civilized world, a person should be considered innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Also, to paraphrase a very famous quote, it is better to let a guilty man go free, than to put an innocent man in prison.

I am not saying McAfee is innocent or guilty, just that only time and evidence -might- decide this. I am also asking that we, as good, civilized people, should not rush to judgement. After all, we currently have no access to any evidence, only news media hype.
