Ah yes, the Falklands, by 2017 oil will be in production, this has Argentina in a snit, besides the old claim, It would be like Canada or the US having a territorial claim on Iceland, both are out in the Atlantic, both had no native islanders when settled(the ejected Spanish don't count as natives). The Falklands are at least holding a vote on what they want to be, which is self-determination, lets see Argentina abide by that, or does Argentina want more ships going to Davy Jones Locker? | |

David Cameron has lead tributes by saying: "Sir Rex Hunt should be a hero to everyone in Britain. His courage, resolve and judgement fired the spirit of the islanders and the British people to stand up to aggression and to defend the rights and freedom of the islanders." +1 Mr Cameron. After Argentine forces landed on the islands in April 2 1982, Sir Rex took the difficult decision to order the token group of British marines defending the territory to surrender. He put on his full ceremonial uniform and told the invading commander: "You have landed unlawfully on British territory and I order you to remove yourself and your troops forthwith." Spot on Sir Rex, it's what being British is all about. Something the rest of the world could learn about.  | |
