Hi,

I had two units that were over 50% processed when suddenly they ended in computation errors. I'm afraid to take new work now. Is there a way to find out what happened? BOINC version is 7.0.29 from the Fedora 17 x86_64 repository. I think the error happened when I updated the Linux kernel to 3.6.3-1.fc17.x86_64 (from the official default repository).

boincerr.log is empty and boinc.log doesn't show anything special.

The application is SETI@home Enhanced v5.28. I don't know if you can see the work units here: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?userid=2875599

No, we are unable to see them with your host hidden.

Can you link to one of the errored tasks please.

Okay, I think it's unhidden now. Here's one of the tasks:

Now the tasks seem to have disappeared without a trace. I didn't know they do that. I'll try one more WU, and if it fails I'll save the task page before it's gone.

I noticed that the processing seems to have failed exactly one hour after starting on the day that the computer clock had been turned backwards due to DST ending (but late in the evening, not early in the morning when the clocks should really be adjusted). The stderr log in the task was about XML errors.

This is the relevant portion of my logs:

I've been told on Freenode that this is a known long-standing bug. So it might not be fixed in the near future. It would be nice if the BOINC Manager gave an explanatory error message when this happens – detecting errors is usually easier than fixing them.
