	didnt delete anything program is completely uninstalled. Then reinstall, The Boinc Data directory is Never removed when uninstalling Boinc, post the startup messages, then i'll known what directory you're installed the Data directory to, and should known whether permissions will be correct or not, then we can get the slot directories cleaned up, after that things should just work, Claggy

	Ok, so I started it back up, it worked for a few sets of files then started spewing errors again. I gave up. Uninstalled everything again and watched the forums... well, tried to. The Seti forums were unreachable for several days. After they finally came back up I still saw nothing new so I waited some more. Nothing. All I did was uninstall the boinc manager. Period! Thats it. No deletions, nothing else. I re-installed it last night and I see everything working again but nothing here about it.... Is there something going on to find out what is the matter or will I just be blamed for not maintaining my computer properly like others have been? ____________

	No one is blaming you my friend. The messages were only intended to alert you to the problem. Since the design of this project is "set an forget" most folks do not pay a great deal of attention to it. I have similar problems getting 100% out of my machine , I've tried a million things to get the errors to stop, so far I have only been able to reduce their occurrence., but I keep trying. I guess what I'm saying is ... Your awareness is the key and you willingness to work with us to solve the problem FULLY makes up for ANY errors your computer makes.

	Just a question.. I have an auto defrag every two weeks because a LOT of files are created and deleted here making for lots of fragmented files. Is there any way that the defrag is causing this? ____________

	I reboot about once a week. I suspended computations until I rebooted. As soon as I resumed all 6.1's error-ed out. ____________

I let my i7 run for weeks at a time and reboot it only when a Windows update requires it. 	My summery of October's blitz is that it wasn't as bad as when M$ rolled out the sleepy drivers, 5 months or so earlier, but the end result of all those PM's is that my inconclusive results have dropped to an eighth of what they were which to me is a great result. Cheers. ____________

So for that application version it's down to 16 per day, and that's enough less than the limit of 100 in progress to minimize the damage. Joe

This setting can produce errors, it stops and starts the app.. Better to set it to 0 (zero) and use the (CPU) and GPU setting: run when computer is idle, IMHO The same applies to the default settings of the AstroPulse stock app. DATA_CHUNK_UNROLL at default:2 DATA_CHUNK_UNROLL at default:2 Depending of the GPU used, these values should be adjusted accordingly. F.i. start with UNROLL=8, UNROLL=16 is usually the limit. Info: BOINC provided device ID used Used GPU device parameters are: Number of compute units: 4 Single buffer allocation size: 256MB max WG size: 1024 FERMI path used: yes UNROLL=4 should work better, IMHO.
