I also get tasks from Einstein@H and they send me ati tasks for my HD6970 GPU home PC but seti never sends me gpu tasks. Its a relatively powerful GPU which crunches at a high rate. Its a shame that seti doesn't use it.

I have a work PC with a relatively low power Nvidea GPU which gets Cuda tasks from Seti but not from Einstein@

Is there a GPU task restriction in BOINC which only allocates GPU tasks to one project per PC?

At the moment, SETI only has a stock app for Astropulse for the ATI/AMD GPU's and they are currently not producing any AP work.

Beta is testing a Multibeam app currently, but it will be a little bit before they release it here.

How long has it been like this?
Why do I receive cuda tasks from Seti on my work PC?

SETI is just starting to release stock apps for AMD/ATI cards, but they have had apps for Nvidia cards for several years.

Your 9600 is from Nvidia and is capable of running CUDA tasks.

Your 69xx is from AMD and does not have CUDA, it supports either CAL or OpenCL only.

CUDA is a marketing term from nVidia to mean the ability to run math intensive algorithms through their line of GPUs.

CUDA is not a SETI term to mean "any task that can run on a GPU".

Currently, SETI@Home's nVidia executable only runs SETI@Home Enhanced Multibeam type workunits. SETI@Home's ATi executable only runs SETI@Home AstroPulse type workunits.

Due to some server-side problems, AstroPulse workunits are not being generated, which means that no ATi GPU clients will receive this type of work. SETI@Home Enhanced MultiBeam is still being generated, so nVidia GPUs will continue to receive this type of work.

Actually there is also a Nvidia OpenCL Astropulse app now as well.

Oh, I didn't know that it was released. Thanks for the update!
