I've gotten a couple of private messages about one of my machines, that seems to be producing mostly junk: errors and invalid results. At first I thought this might be due to the video card; my driver locks up periodically and resets the card and driver on me. So I suspended GPU usage, thinking that might solve it, but alas, it seems not. What are the steps to take in order to begin diagnosing the problem? This problem relates to the following machine: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=5889577 |

Right now , it appears that disabling GPU use has stopped your error production, however it certainly has not solved your problem. computer 5889577 wrote:

Looks like your problem is with the cuda fermi application from seti@home. Try to obtain and install an optimized gpu application. if this resolves your problem , you will also enjoy a higher RAC for doing it. upon further inspection it appears your gpu is overclocked , slowing it back down should solve your issue. nvidia specs for gtx 560ti wrote:

Your CPU processing looks fine, but probably most of the tasks which have already been reported from GPU processing will end up being invalid. They're waiting for results to be reported from another host, then the Validator will render its judgement. The 560Ti cards are good but somewhat temperamental, see post 1240004 by jason_gee for some things to check. Joe |

Easiest fix for the 560ti will be Jason's app when it goes live soon. I well recall. I had the same thing going-on, if you remember. It took more than Lunatics' to fix mine. One card went back for repair and the other I flashed the BIOS myself (it was available on Gigabyte's website, I'm not saying I wrote my own BIOS). <knocking wood> They do seem to be better. But one card or another will let me down from time-to-time and start spouting junk. |
