Obama is a moderate. If he was liberal, he would have shut down the TSA, cleaned up the USDA, Put some teeth in the FDA, Cracked down on the ARA,
and done much much more.

The liberals are disappointed. But currently the Teapublicans have hijacked our congress and face us with real regress. We still have some hope for a
bit of progress.

The borrow and spend teapublicans created the mess. He has been trying to bail it out while congress has been trying to drill holes in the bottom of the boat.

Soft, during Bush II it wasn't borrow and spend TeaPublicans -- it was borrow and spend Republicans. The Teapublican hijack didn't really take place until the tone of the presidency went dark.

Then you have Romney who is at various times Obama-Lite (debate on foreign policy), Romney-Moderate -- previous two debates, Romney the 'severe conservative' and Romney the Teapublican.

The thing is, if Romney is elected, the Democrats will have enough votes to play the same game the Teapublicans have and block action -- be full up partisan.

Absent compromise from both parties -- Romney would inherit a new recession and then the Democrats could emulate the dog/manger Teapublican behavior of the past two years as it seems people are far more inclined to blame the President than Congress when things don't go well.

Excellent analysis. I suspect Romney being a business person would actually want compromise, it tends to be the only way to get stuff done, and getting stuff done is what business is about. Of course the partisans would never allow it, they have far to much to loose to ever allow that.

If Romney the moderate is elected and isn't removed from office by Romney the Teapublican (concept of self-impeachment), then he just might accept a compromise that allows for increased taxes on the uber-wealthy in order to 'keep defense strong'.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the lame duck session -- absent compromise, with a Romney election, he's going to really have problems creating the 12.5 million jobs that he says his plan will create (notwithstanding that the other Romney maintains that government doesn't create jobs).

Well, there is liberal, and then there is what the Teapublicans call socialist. Then you have the 'moderate' Ryan plan which will eliminate funding for half of those on Medicaid.

Obamacare has real problems not because it went too far to the left, rather it has problems because it focused on paying off big insurance companies.

Gary -- there was campaign Romney after the Teapublican nomination. Then there was debate Romney who moved so far to the center that his own talking heads were confused and back tracked him on some claim.

My own guess is that a President Romney would have to deal left and right, and that Moderate Romney might be self-impeached by Teapublican Romney. In doing so, he'd empower the Senate to play bill blockade mode.

There are only two Romneys. Primary Romney and Campaign Romney. Damn shame there are so many RINO tea idiots in the party of Goldwater that people have to cow tow to them.
