I'm not sure if I've missed a notice about this or not.

First, I received a notice stating that SETI could'nt connect to the internet. I can pull up the internet through Yahoo, Google, or whatever and a web page comes up and it's on the computer with S@H. Secondly, I keep getting "Won't get new tasks" whenever I request tasks. Do I need to change any of my preferences or is the problem at Berkley?

The couldn't connect to the internet message probably means that your firewall is blocking BOINC.exe from making outbound connections on port 80.

Secondly, I keep getting "Won't get new tasks" whenever I request tasks.

You get that message when you set SETI@home to "No New Tasks" in the Projects tab. So, when you have reestablished SETI's server connection, click on "Allow New Tasks" after highlighting SETI@home.
