In a scene remimiscient of the burning man celebrations, the Texas State Fair Icon has gone to flames. http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/Big-Tex-Catches-Fire-174950541.html Sadly Tex was doing his standard wave and greet at the entrance to the State Fair where he'd welcomed people for 40+ years, when he spontaneously combusted(source needed) according to a religious bystander. Most attribute the fire to an electical short. Texas Governor blames the short on liberals and their regulations(source needed) The Two Texas Democrats were unavailable for comment. In a scene remimiscient of the burning man celebrations, the Texas State Fair Icon has gone to flames. Probably just a short circuit as the arm and mouth were electrically driven, but Tex will be back, 15 years, the insulation probably rotted or wore away... I heard on the news that Big Tex was actually a Santa Display that the state fair had bought for $750 back in the 1940's. Assuming they did little to repair him over the years the fire seems an inevitable outcome In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |
