In a scene remimiscient of the burning man celebrations, the Texas State Fair Icon has gone to flames.

Sadly Tex was doing his standard wave and greet at the entrance to the State Fair where he'd welcomed people for 40+ years, when he spontaneously combusted(source needed) according to a religious bystander.

Most attribute the fire to an electical short. Texas Governor blames the short on liberals and their regulations(source needed) The Two Texas Democrats were unavailable for comment.

Probably just a short circuit as the arm and mouth were electrically driven, but Tex will be back, 15 years, the insulation probably rotted or wore away...

I heard on the news that Big Tex was actually a Santa Display that the state fair had bought for $750 back in the 1940's. Assuming they did little to repair him over the years the fire seems an inevitable outcome
