I see that I now have 174 tasks that are inconclusive.Have not noticed it ever being that high. Is this something being caused by my machines? Thanks Frank |

From the quick look that I did all I can see is that you have some wingmates that have unstable PC's. None of your rigs show invalids so if I were you I wouldn't worry about it. Cheers. |

I think there is more going on here. I am seeing a lot of inconclusive results as well, some of which have already had 4 different people process them. Mixed in with some of the inconclusive results from others are results with errors (not seeing errors on my computers). Either the WUs are at fault of the calculations have changed somehow. It is nice to see a seperate category for these WUs. SETI@home classic workunits 4,019 SETI@home classic CPU time 34,348 hours |

At a quick look Bill you are in the same book, you've just been paired with some bad wingmates. Cheers. |

I guess if you process enough WUs you are going to see a lot of strange happenings. SETI@home classic workunits 4,019 SETI@home classic CPU time 34,348 hours |

I'm also seeing some inconclusives and errors. In particular, I'd like to understand what's going on with this one. I can't see why it's inconclusive. Also, how does a task come out "abandoned" (by another user, not me)? My i7 is suddenly showing some inconclusives and new errors, but I thought it might have something to do with the machine being frozen for 3 days. I looked at it Tuesday night and its clock was still showing 4:57 pm on Saturday. I don't think any work timed out because of it, but if it did I apologize to my wingies. All of a sudden I am seeing the new category...... And I am showing 1,111 'validation inconclusive' tasks from the kitty farm. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Hmmm. So would I be correct in thinking that a task listed in the inconclusive category would, once it had completed the resend, appear in my valid tasks? Or if the resend did not match mine, would appear in my invalid list? |

Or if the resend did not match mine, would appear in my invalid list? Yes, I would assume so. And I am not too worried about the large number showing for the kitty farm, as most of the invalids I have seen here were the result of clogged up servers resulting in WU reissues that could not be completed in time. So I believe that most of them will finally end up being validated and credit awarded. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

I did check out all 14 of Validation inconclusive tasks and nine of them are when my wing-man have cuda/cuda_fermi. And all of those have Spike count 30. Coincidence or problem? All of a sudden I am seeing the new category...... One of my wingmen had 5,500 "inconclusives", 1,300 "invalids" and only 16 "valid" tasks, and that was on just one machine. I had a couple of other wingmen with more than 2,500 "inconclusives" and a 1,000 or more invalids. All of them seemed to have one or more 560Ti's running amok. T.A. |

All of a sudden I am seeing the new category...... Out of the many 1000s of WUs the kitties process, I only have 7 invalids. I do keep an eye on invalids and errors in case something goes off into the woods, but no problems on the farm here. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

I just ran into this also. 80ish results that are testing out as Validation inconclusive the good note is others are getting the same results. Do we have any concrete reasons for this? |

The best reason I can see is that it's much easier now to find those wingmates running unreliable rigs and some of them may take notice of the new category and work out that they have a problem without someone sending them a PM. :D So long as you're not getting anything in the Invalid section why worry? ;) Cheers. |

I think I'll take up a new hobby when I'm bored, "Writing my wingmen with borked machines and inviting them into the NC forum to get sorted out." I found a dozen folks without trying that were pumping out a ton of tasks, but only maybe a dozen would go valid while 5000+ invalids stacked up.
