Black pudding and single malt, hmm.

For those using cast iron pans, make sure you have a talk with your doctor about http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_overload IIRC it affects males more than females and more as you age.

For real? The human gut is rather resistant to absorbing heavy metals... and that is a good thing!!! I suppose one might be able to OD on iron if one regularly swallowed too many oral iron tablets, but I find it hard to believe one could OD from iron from using a cast iron skillet.

The real danger of cast iron frypans is getting smacked over the head with one after upsetting the cook.

If the same holds true for aluminum, I'm doomed.

I'm quite sure that there is ho danger cooking in iron skillets, but if I recall there was a problem cooking rhubarb in aluminum saucepans.

I only cook eggs and sausage in My pan for breakfast these days, Oh I could use up the last of the pancake mix one of these days, at dinner time I use an aluminium cookie sheet for the fish sticks and fries, meanwhile Grace wanted Me to hold Her in My arms, so I typed part of this one handed.

I've had haggis a few times. It is quite tasty. The secret if to not think about what you are actually eating. And a few shots of that single malt first would probably help. :)

Lots of single malt first, then the Haggis doesn't seem so bad.

Uli just reminded me that I am overdue for an update on Donna and her siblings.

Marcel and Magoo each got single courses of antibiotics. Donna required two weeks on drugs. Everyone's legs are much improved.

Marcel and Magoo are just fine. There is no indication of infection in either one of them. They have definitely moved on to new territories, but they still come by for snacks one or two times each week.

The horrible swelling in Donna's hind leg is vastly improved and barely noticeable now. She still limps, but very slightly. She gets around the backyard quickly and well and she really should be moving out soon, but she is showing absolutely no signs of leaving!!! Eric thinks we should cut way back on her food to encourage her to move out. I know this is the right thing to do, but I am having trouble doing this.
