I overeat when I'm stressed, or not stressed, or when I'm bored.

A teacher once told me find the one thing you can do, and do it well.

And for you that is eating?

That sheep shot struck me as funny in light of Eric's annual big shearing event yesterday. Eric shaves after the Superbowl every year. He goes clean-shaven through the spring and summer. As soon as college football starts, he starts growing his beard again. He claims that each year he is surprised at how much gray has come in, but I still see mostly brown and red in his beard. (I will not be happy until "the Santa-fication" is complete!)

I have a similar ritual. Traditionally I start cultivating facial hair on or around Halloween, then shave most of it off on my birthday in April. I have reached full "Santa-fication", save a couple dark patches on my chinny-chin-chin. While this does mitigate the Santa effect, it tends to create that Purvis the skunk look. This year, however, due to circumstances beyond my control, all but the mustache and chin whiskers may be coming off ahead of schedule.

The pics might be too hard to get being their on a crane and the roadkill a bit gruesome.

Me being glad that I don't live in Big Bear, as the Police are still looking for Dorner and it's 19F at 6,922' in elevation up there....

It is still snowing here, and I have never seen this much snow. This is a yard stick on the floor in front of the deck. The deck is actually about 6" below the floor. The wind is still very strong, and I am not looking forward to shoveling all this!

We too got a bit of a pounding with the snow, but nothing like that!

Best of luck with it Steve, don't work too hard.

The local Mountains around Big Bear where it's 6,922' in elevation have snow and the low there was 19F, the high is expected to be 32F. Though I doubt there is as much, the snow resorts have snow making machines to make up for any lack of snow.

Ok friends. I have asked the Mod-Squad to move this section of our Critter Cafe over to Politics, under a new thread called "Be Prepared".

See you all on the other side!
