Hi all I have just downloaded the latest client and wanted to install it on my server to use some spare runtime out of hours but when I try and run the install as administrator, with administrative rights With Screen save unticked, and protected application unticked, and all all users to control I get this error - "Failed to add user to the 'boinc_admins' group (Administrator)." I have tried adding administrator manually to the group but still get same error. When I tick the Protected application mode, I get "Failed to create the 'boinc_master' account, I have tried to create an account with the same name to see if it prompts for a password but this hasn't worked either Operating system is Server 2008R2 64bit SP1, This is a Domain Controller. Any advice will be greatfully received Pete. |

Operating system is Server 2008R2 64bit SP1, This is a Domain Controller. That's your problem. BOINC versions after 5.10.45 can't be installed on domain controllers. That doesn't mean they wouldn't run, the windows installer just doesn't install them. Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben.
