Just woke up.

What is it? What do you use it for?

Bonus for the name.

You are getting very close. It is for slicing.

Don't tell Me, a Hot Dog slicer...

I think it is a cigar slicer. Do you like to smoke when you cook?

It looks like a nut cracker, but why you would want such a cumbersome tool to do something that simple is beyond me.

Lever Nut Cracker

[edit1]
"What type"
Model No NC01

This stylish nut cracker looks great as well as being very efficient and functional

Ideal for the person that has everything but also those of us who find it difficult to use a regular nut cracker

The aperture for the nut is fully adjustable to accept hazelnuts all the way up to walnuts and brazils simply rotate the anvil to adjust from small to large nuts.

Sit the nut on the track in front of the handle and simply press the lever down gently to crack any nut of your choosing this devise does not need strength and grip to crack nuts so anyone can use it

Don't know the official name, but it is used for taking glass jars out of the hot water when canning stuff.

I know its usage from watching one in action every fall for the last umpteen years, but never knew the name. Try this.
