Going out to eat? Tired of being ignored, being given food the chef would
not feed his dog?
open this up on your smart phone web browser. No need to get an account,
or write anything. Just open it to http://www.yelp.com and let the waiter/waitress see it on the table (you might need to touch the phone a couple of times so it lights up).
Tada! They trip over themselves to make sure everything is perfect. Caution:
they can be TOO attentive.

I mentioned that yesteray as a certain rstaurant would not honor their Ad.
Got the run around. They relented, but thw free stuff was dry. Will Yelp hear from me, yes.

Unfortunately Yelp has been overused and is not nearly as popular as it was before and I've seen people schill (false reviews) on Yelp. Angie's List is a pay site (not gonna touch it)...

I use yelp all the time. But I usually don't let people know it until afterwards. I want to be treated as they treat anyone, then tell the truth. Next time I come in they seem to remember me.
What really works is a trick I used on a date once. I went to the restaurant early and gave the head waiter $100. I told him I would be by later with a date and told him my name and what I wanted, including wine. I asked that when I came I wanted him to ask if I wanted my regular order. That date went very well and the service was first class. (oops did i give away a secret?) |

I waited tables during undergrad. I tried to always give great service but folks that went easy on me (didn't run me after 100 little things) and were some what nice did pretty well.

Never heard about it, over here. I see there's no Belgian city on the list...
