For those who might have missed Richards link. There is a page you can view the total donations to SETI@Home since November 2010

it is http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/donation_history.php

Just as a quick overview, this is the total, and this month:

The bottom box tells it's own tale!!

Hey! You! The one without the green star next to your name. Wouldn't you like to have one of those pretty stars for your very own? It's easy to get one. Just donate a minimum of $10 to SETI@home. The link where you can do this is on your own account page on the site, or elsewhere in this thread.

Bonus! Along with your new green star, you'll also get a warm fuzzy feeling inside for having helped this worthy project. (Picture yourself petting a furry little kitten named Seti.) Wouldn't you like that?

And now this thread will be back on the top of the news section of the home page.

Please note whilst I do not have a green star I have donated this year. However when I heard that "coloured stars" were probably going to be introduced, different colours for larger amounts, I decided to keep my donations annonymous.

So just because someone does not have a start does not mean they do not donate.

That's fine (although I would have waited to see if they went ahead with the color plan). You still have the warm fuzzy feeling inside!

Well that didn't work. Oh well.

I am torn with regards to the seperate stars. I think green should be the default and the others by choice. Not for bragging rights, but cudos.

Again not an esay solution. So maybe it is best to keep the status quo and just issue a nice certificate.

As the world may end in a few days, this may become a nonissue ;)

I have just donated a small amount to the project and I'm sorry to say that only a few of my teammates are still active. They have read several articles which seem to imply that the SETI project is going under. Most notably that the large array in the southwest US has been put in hibernation due to lack of funds.I will keep crunching data as long as data is sent.
Merry Christmas All

That Dr. Korpela explaining the difference beteween the SETI Institue (running the array) and SETI@home. Short: they are not connected to each other.
