So you agree then that in stating you hope that the Sun wins the case, that "pleb" Mitchell is indeed a muppet which only confirms the country's views of our current mop of politicians.

I indicated my views on one particular politician, I did not presume to make a generalisaton, as you are so fond of doing. And I assume you meant crop not mop, although leaving aside the Boris haircut, a certain few are a bit wet.

You've got your work cut out for yourself!

100% right I do, and don't I know it!

All makes sense. Bank employees who increase the banks profits get a bonus.
The Greenies increase the Governments tax take via green tax's so they get a
bonus too. I'm on this band wagon too now, I'm going to write to the Chancellor
and suggest that he can increase his tax take by upping VAT by one percent. If
he accepts this proposal then I should be on a potential bonus of several million
quid......wish me luck!!!

One strelth tax all Gordon Brown missed, and so has Osborne is to charge Road Tax on all and any caravan that is towed. After all Motorhomes are Road Taxed.

I would charge a Road Tax rate the same as the car used to tow the caravan.

That should raise Osborne at least £500 million ($775milion ....

Oy "Slippery Duvet Dave", you're constantly banging on about reforming the govenment & country.......

...nice ideas........however........

Royal Marines to patrol Boat Race.....shouldn't that be done by the River Police, or are too scared they might sue for getting too wet?

Call Police? You're joking if we're gonna pay £50k

I think they have already jumped on the caravaners now by adding VAT to caravan
sales.

I think that you will find that the River Police every year are fully committed to covering that race in the first place. They don't have further resources to mount extra patrols to cater for nutters that disrupted it last year. Hence the extra help being provided by the RM.

A typical wet comment from you.

@Nick - Caravans

Whether caravanners like it or not they are a damn social nuisance! Ever been behind one on a long windy road, toddling along at 40mph where you can't overtake them for mile after mile? Then the slightest little incline and they drop back to about 20mph? Tax the baskets off the road, that is fine with me. What would make more sense is to simply bring in a couple of laws.
    1. No caravans to be towed on UK roads between the hours of 9AM to 9PM. You want to be anti sociable, then you do it in anti sociable hours.

    2. There should be a minimum permissable power to weight ratio between the weight of the caravan being towed, and the engine size of the towing vehicle. Thus to avoid the slow down up hills.

Sensible advice is given here but very few take any notice of it.

Come, come. Not all car/caravan combinations are under powered - take my old Land Rover 110, with a JE tuned 4.6 and a 14ft Sprite on the back - we were baulked going up just about every "one-up/one down" hill by normal "rep-mobiles" that were struggling (well, in all truth so were we - struggling not to ram them from behind when they missed gears....) The number of eyeballs on stalks as we passed them on steep hills was beyond count.

I Don't Skive in the news again....

Pressure grows over £53 per week claim

...Should've kept his mouth shut & just got on with the reforms, as no denying it, they are needed.

However, they should have tightened up on the ease in which fraudsters can empty the kitty!

As for the claim, it's hilarious....

...forget the wild plasma tv, beer, tobacco, bingo claims......

£7.31 p/w Water Rates
£12.81 per week electricity
£11.62 per week Gas

leaving £18.26 for....

food
toiletries
household items (i.e., bleach, washing powder, soap, washing up liquid etc - don't want to be attending interviews looking & smelling like a tramp now do we...)
transport costs to attend interviews.

At a salary of £1,600.00 per week, the fool should definitely have kept his mouth shut.

The UK government has announced plans to end aid to India by 2015, but at the same time the amount of money going to its neighbour Pakistan is set to soar from £267 million now to £446 million in 2014/15, making it the biggest recipient of foreign aid.

Pakistan will be the next to be cut.

At a House of Commons administration committee hearing, Kevan Jones, a shadow Labour defence minister and MP for North Durham, said that MPs are only given £15 a night towards their evening meals while civil servants get about £24.

This is just the mail just stirring it up to get copy. It's what they do.

She said: ‘The only reason young people hang around on the street is because there’s nothing else for them to do. I’m going to be going out and asking them what things they need to get them off the streets. One of the things I want to do is help to remove the stigma young people have attached to them.

If it cuts youth crime it's worth trying it as a once off. But I don't hold out much hope for it, and I don't think most others will either.

The PCC Mrs Barnes is using £5,000 from her own salary to pay the cost of the post, with the remaining £10,000 coming from her staffing budget.

I think this should be noted.

The voting age should be taken back to 21. The average 18 year old I see couldn't be trusted to manage joined up writing.

Cutting it is not the correct option. Both countries have nuclear weapons with one building its own space industry.

It should be stopped immediately.

The word "Austerity" enters the picture.

The "health tourism" abuse of the NHS by non UK people needs to be stopped and now, I couldn't agree more. Simple answer ....
    1. Any woman from abroad more than 7 months pregnant should be refused entry into the UK, unless they can either show intention of returning home pretty shortly, or have financial means to pay any bills incurred.

    2. If emergency treatment is given to a foreign person, then that persons Embassy will be required to pay the cost if they cannot.

Why not?

the Same applies to the US. We have a porous border to the south yet quite a few Pregnant visitors disappear for a month or so in the US so they can produce an American baby and keep staying here for their American child.

Ideally, I'd allow the child to stay and send the parents packing unless of course they'd like to take their child back with them and never return.
We now have wealthy Chinese pregnant couples paying their way into the US paying for their medical bills and having an American baby. Then returning to China with an American birth certificate. This child now has dual citizenship and can return later for college.
