Do the muppets in charge really know what they're doing?

"Pleb" Mitchell insists that Dorries did not get permission

Justice Minister on the fiddle

This comment on the article really hits home!

"As someone who works away from home a lot of the time I have endless trouble getting my expenses approved by HMRC, every penny I earn is subject to scrutiny under the ridiculous IR35 legislation, and every penny I spend is checked, double-checked, and queried. Either MPs work under the same rules as the rest of us, or their rules are extended to the rest of us! This cannot go on, all they do is show what a sef-serving bunch they are more concerned with making themselves rich on the public purse while the rest of us suffer and pay for it while they sip champagne and laugh at us."

Boris for PM!

"Cameron better get his act together and tell clegg and the limp dems where to go! He will not only throw away any chance of victory at the next election if he were to go along with clegg on this, but he could put the party out of power for even longer than the poll tax did. IF then we end up with the millepede in power, we will really be sorry and todays problems will be insignificant to what they would be with millepede in control. Boris get in the next election and become an MP, then challenge for the leadership, you will win a political landslide!! But makes sure you give us all an in/out referendum on the EU" Brilliant comment

Boris for PM!
It's a property tax in all but name. Set at £1m then wait for most properties to
drift up to this price over the years to come. How do they intend to index this
£1M so that this starting price raises in line with rises in property prices
over the years. Over the coming years this tax will become increasingly unpopular
and will finally get chopped. It is being promulgated by a political party that
has has absolutely no experience of running a government for over 100 years
and it's showing. Cameron is clearly showing his lack of foresight by commending
this mansion tax when it has got failure written all over it.

Del-boy declares war - wants country to be put on a "War footing" What a muppet!
Again, another example of government amateurism showing it's full face to the
electorate of Great Britain. Go blundering ahead with a mansion tax and force
it upon the property owners yet whimper on how the civil service are not
trimming down enough to save money. Well Mr Cameron why don't you show a bit
of metal here. Tell the civil service it either starts trimming down vigorously
or come early next year you will personally issue every fifth civil servant
a redundancy notice...that would soon put a rocket up their derries.

As another person that a) worked for a period as a civil servant with very strict rules that said we could only live in approved rented accommodation when abroad or loose our allowances, and b) later worked as a contractor when they brought in the infamous IR35 rules then the saying of "he who lives by the sword, dies by the sword" should apply doubly.

That's been a known fact for the last 25 years!

I feel it has gone back further than the last 25 years but was punctured when
Maggie came a long for a few dam-good years.

Sirius, unfortunately we need this depression for it offers the only potential
for a change to the way these Isles are managed. Depressions, when they end,
tend to herald in new things - new ways. The last one in the UK bought in
socialism hopefully the next one will see it kicked straight back out again.

For a start, a system where politics plays a secondary role in how Britain
is run. This should remove the career politicians out of the equation, those
who know nothing but profess to know everything.

I dun-no so much, for your chances of winning the lottery are slimmer than you
might think. Politics will see change over a period of a hundred years but winning
the lottery over the same period of play is less likely to be experienced
by you as an individual. But do remember, when the lottery has made it's 14
millionth draw will all of the 14 million different 6 number combinations have
been called too....NO!! For it will take about 83 million draws before all
the possible 6 number combination get finally drawn.

A biggie to me would mean a £10 win cos I get naff-all else out of it. So my
chances of seeing real tangible political change in these Isles is much greater.

True, but as most of mine range from £1400 to £4070, maybe our chances of seeing needed change will occur in our lifetimes.... :)

As long as your showing a profit, even if it's only a quid or two, over the year
then your going to be on to the bigger winner one day...I just hope you like
champagne if it happens....but don't take the publicity route for you'll get
chased by the beggars for the rest of your life.

It'll take 461.92 years before I start showing a loss... :)

As for the really big one? I'm not bothered.... 5 or 5+6 is always good enough for me.

It's a shame that same thought is not held by the thieving, fiddling bloodsuckers that we call "leaders".
