What happened to all the GPU work? I have 5 machines running, 3 of which are older and just get the 'normal' WU's and the occasional AP unit, they are fine for work. My other 2 machines are more so GPU crunches though. My home machine was getting a decent amount of ATI GPU units and the CPU units, enough to keep the machine going with both at all times. Recently (last couple of weeks) I suddenly have not received but a couple of these units and it only is getting CPU WU's. The other GPU machine (NVIDIA) currently has 0 WU's GPU or CPU! Seti seem to only send that machine the GPU units, and a few CPU units to work on while the GPU is actually in use. Makes sense as that is an older Pentium D system but with a EVGA 9800GT GPU. Still if no GPU units are available why is it not getting CPU units? My credit has gone from just shy of 13,000 to currently around 7,000 in the past 30 days! Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks! |

Everything looks pretty normal to me. It would seem that a great deal of the work recently has been VLAR & VHAR's. Along with lower than normal workunit creation. So a drop in RAC would be expected under these conditions. It does look like things might be starting to level off, but it is hard to tell for sure at the moment. The client went wild.... 1000 WU in a single hour, going over 7800 WU's, way over the set value. Another computer got 550, 800 and 900 in 4 hours. And after that of course all the work is gone. TThrottle Control your temperatures. BoincTasks The best way to view BOINC. Anza Borrego Desert hiking. |

The client went wild.... Yeah I think I might have cleaned out the feeder in one request. 10/11/2012 8:31:47 AM SETI@home Requesting new tasks for NVIDIA GPU 10/11/2012 8:31:49 AM SETI@home Scheduler request completed: got 123 new tasks I had disabled work fetch for a few days to test something. I just enabled it a few moments ago & went to the messages tab to see how man it might get. I saw the request & by the time I clicked the transfers tab, at most 60s later, it was empty. I thought something had gone wrong, but all the tasks were just done downloading that quickly. I was confused as it has been a while since the bandwidth hasn't been pegged. This value was increased? To which value? If the top #20 hosts request work, all WUs are gone .. ? :-| * Best regards! :-) * Sutaru Tsureku, team seti.international founder. * Optimize your PC for higher RAC. * SETI@home needs your help. * |

Follow up....so I still had NO work today. It said 'Won't receive work..." in the status column. I detached and reattached the project, it downloaded the needed data/program files then it downloaded a TON of work (like it did previously). Not sure why it stopped getting work and why I had to do that 'trick' but it did work. Hopefully it will be smooth sailing from now on. |

It said 'Won't receive work..." in the status column. My version of BOINC says "Won't get new tasks" when I select "No new tasks". So, try clicking on "Allow new tasks" for a change ;-) Gruß, Gundolf [edit]You'll have to select SETI@home in your Projects tab to see the actual setting of the button(s).[/edit] |

It said 'Won't receive work..." in the status column. Are you kidding, wow! With all the years running this program I have never seen or hit that button before (even though it is in plain sight). Update is pretty much all I ever hit now and then. Oh well, live and learn :) |

I've been getting the below for several weeks now, very rarely get any new GPU work from Seti. I have checked all of my settings to make sure I didn't turn something off, I didn't. It boggles my mind that people get multiple hundred WU downloaded - I can't even get a few every day or two. Now that it's the weekend, I know I stand zero chance of getting any new WU at least until monday, I've resorted to another project to keep my machines busy. 10/12/2012 7:52:45 PM | SETI@home | Requesting new tasks for ATI |

You're running the Stock apps, the only Stock apps for ATI's is the OpenCL Astropulse app, at the moment the tapes in use have already had all their AP Wu's split, you'll have to wait until most of the Multibeam work has been split and issued before new tapes are added, then AP spliting will resume, make sure you have a big enough cache setting then. Yeah! Finally! I was getting teased the past few days with a few ATI AP units here and there, then the other night...boom! A nice big chunk of them on my machine. Hopefully this will continue! |
