Makes you think I had a friend in Roswell NM who was a teacher for one winter in Alberta ( way north ) and he took on a school where the kids stayed at the school for 3 or 4 months not going home? INSANE OR WHAT!!! he did it one season and now is a mailman in the deep south.

High ski season 1979 some of the ski lifts in Colorado had to close - not because of a lack of snow - because of a surfiet. The lifts were burried. The roads to the lodges were unplowable because the banks were higher than the blowers could throw...

I bet pikes peak would be something to talk about. My one brother walked up it one summer and said that was enough. took the train down. We call him the worlds oldest boy scout though he really isn't. 82 and keeps on ticking.

Nah. I was a bit further south than that. I was just watching the evening news. For our local ski hill it was a great season. They opened in early October and closed in mid May - due to lack of interest rather than lack of snow.

The Ski resorts in the local mountains would love that season, lots of money to be made from people wanting to ski that are from the LA, OC, SB and Riverside county areas...

Especially driving in snow is dangerous I think. You never know when you're gonna slip...I always used to have special winter tires on my car.

Looking forwards to snow, and some fell in the West Country. Just black ice here, and a few vehicles in the ditch ...

When I was a kid I was disappointed if their was no snow on Christmas morning and we had a lot of them. Now? It's always green. Frost? maybe

That's what snow tires, chains, and caution are for.
