A guy i knew had a Main Coon cat and that cat was the size of a mid size dog. He said they can get up 25 pounds? Yes, they can. It all depends on their lineage. Lori has a pair of Maine Coon brothers. They come in around 18 lbs each. A rather hefty bit of kitten, they are. Very big paws and heads. When those guys take to chasing each other about the house, you would think there was a minor earthquake. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Oh, and the world record holder for the longest domestic kitty is indeed a Maine Coon.....at over 4 feet. Rather large kitty! "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

If anybody would be so inclined......... Here is a Maine Coon kitten page...... Kittens available!!! Meow. Coming soon to a soft lap near YOU. I want one soooooooooooo badly. Maybe when my dear Squirrel passes onto the Rainbow Bridge. Not to rush her, of course. She is still hanging on, nearing 18yo, still full of piss and vinegar as the saying goes. Loves the heck out of me and I, her. She's losing a bit of weight again.....might need her thyroid meds adjusted. She's just laying here on the couch eyballing me and purring. She's a long haired barnyard cat that managed to get a tad bit of Maine Coon in her somewhere along the lineage. This would be my Squirrel.......... "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." If anybody would be so inclined......... Squirrel is very pretty, Kitties have always treated Me well, now I know why some kids didn't and cats always did, cats didn't care if there was any red in My hair, some kids evidently did. Kitties have always treated me well too. Been nipped by one or two, but usually it was just kitty defending her personal space, and was justified. Can't say I have EVER met a mean kitty. I suspect with some love and care, even the infamous Burger kitty..... found a loving home. [Turn down the audio...LOL] "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

I can say not all of my 6 dogs go bananas, but nearly 50%. I have terrified dogs scattered around the house on a particularly noisy fireworks session .. I guess it's not much different than one good hunting dog and one runs from the sound of the gun. Gun shy Grant Healdsburg CA |

When it snows it's fun watching our dogs in the virgin snow. They stick their noses down in the snow and walk forwards. It piles up in front of their nose, and, if you call, the head comes up and their face is snow bound. It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues |
