Nice report, caught the last 5 minutes of the debate on the BBC.

Some very interesting points were raised. The question now is: - Will they be looked at & will any reforms that will be necessary, be implemented?

I would say that the answer is yes. Billions of people all over the world watch and listen to the BBC via its world service broadcasts, and it plays a vital part in reporting current affairs. Like all cosy institutions they got complacent, and that lack of attention has bitten them big time. I think that the BBC is too important to be allowed to be dismantled or broken up, and I think that it will be re-built from the top down, it has to be.

Parliament and the public will accept nothing less.

Let's hope so. So the thread title is correct after all: -

The BBC as it currently stands has to go!

I blame it on the soap's, ever since they were first screened television seemed
to then go down hill or was this just coincidental?

Is that a fact? Then please explain why you're not scolding a very dear freind of yours who has been residing in the US for 1/2/3 decades & showing a German flag? No faith in America prehaps? If so, why reside there?

Ah, better $$$$$$$$$.

Pot Kettle & Black springs to mind!

The flag I choose has nothing to do with where I live and you know better Sirius.

Tut,tut, tut, so why do you allow your "friend" to moan about others with different flags to the country they reside in?

Pot,Kettle & Black on the agenda.

It is accepted custom and practice on the Seti boards, that if posters wish to display a national flag on their avatar, then is is either their country of birth, or if they prefer, the country where they have spent the majority of their life living in.

The Lady in question is indeed a dear friend of mine, and had I thought for one moment, that she would be unable to give a robust response, I would have replied myself. I am gratified to note that my initial view of the situation has been proved correct.

In polite society, it is good manners, and accepted Gentlemanly behaviour, to not insult Lady colleagues, of which there are far too few around here. You have failed on both accounts. I would therefore request that you modify the tenor of the remarks in your future posts, which at present are incurring my distinct displeasure.

Even though this is a public forum, for all to see.

So if for instance someone on these boards named someone as a criminal or pedophile and someone else tweeted this accusation and quoted these boards and the "name" of the poster all would be fine?

PS I meant ON THESE FORUMS, crikey getting jumpy I was not having a go at anyone
