Just finished watching "Panorama - Jimmy Saville".

Looks like the BBC getting off, but not entirely scot free - The villian of the piece is a well known villian to the 60 million residents of Britain.....

Are those within the BBC then to be considered non-complicit?....Me Lord!!

But I hasten to add, "If it be later discovered, that the body in question has been sitting
on information, of such nature, that had this been submitted to the appropriate
authority, will have lead to a charge being laid against a person/s answerable
to in a court of law; then this will be very interesting indeed"....Your Honour.

Their excuse was that "they thought" that the women concerned had already gone to the police, when in fact they hadn't.

Methinks that the BBC are very very crafty!

They stomped on the Newsnight report due to "editorial reasons" & when that was shown to be a load of cobblers, they had Panorama investigate.....

....just who produces Panroama?

Why the BBC of course

& get out of it they will.

I think its time that all at the top of public institutions including parliament had a new fresh untarnished broom sweep through them.....

....at least that'll be better than what I'm thinking atm....

Ah, but were they in possession, at that time, of information that will/could have supported her claim?

If documents can be produced, containing the substance of this evidence, and the
documents had, at some time, been submitted to the higher authority and
subsequent receipt by the higher authority acknowledged, then the higher
authority should have secured the relevant evidence knowing that it may contain
information on a serious criminal act having been carried out....Barrister Sirius?

Yep, like crazy.... :)

One thing that does perplex me here Sirius, that is; do those who fall under
suspicion here, of being involved in crimes against those under aged, have any
information that could lead to the known whereabouts, or fate, of any listed
missing children??

...scratch scalp again......

I think it would help to bear in mind that in the case of the Savile allegations, the term "children" refers to girls under the age of consent, in the 14-16 age group, which are usually referred to as "minors". There are of course other very sad cases of missing children in the first decade of their life that are very much younger. Incorrect! Don't forget the boys

This is all an extremely bad business which seems to get worse day by day. I never thought I would see anything like this, and I think that totally bewildered, is as a good description as any at the moment, of my thoughts.

So the well publicised Gary Glitter case didn't enter your thoughts?

What we are dealing with here is a practice that was quiet systemic amongst
the nobility and gentry going back afar as "Shakespeare's ??" time??
Even as recent as the early 1970's some in authority considered this kind
of behaviour had no proven harmful effect upon children. The latter up until
such time that it became a topic of concern and received the appropriate
form of study/research with results showing, unequivocally, that it does
seriously harm a child/young adult's mental state, if not for the whole of
it's life. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the act of committing under aged
sex by an adult, even by the 1970's, was a serious criminal offence.
An offence, that too many of our institutions have conveniently swept under
the carpet rather than face up to and deal with appropriately in a manner
consistent with the high standards that one could have considered were naturally
to have been set in place to protect these minors.

Is the stigma of this crime so bad that people are afraid of reporting it because they will be assumed guilty by association if they do report it and thus don't report it? Thinking of Penn State as well.

Thought you were more intelligent that that. It wasn't a case of stigma but money & power talks, with the "little people" being continuouldy screwed over, & if you think that is B/S, tell us all - what did the bankers do to us in 2008 with the result of that still haing a drastic effect today.

Hotting up.....

Approaching 300

"Sources close to Scotland Yard's investigation said they were also looking at "figures of high standing" who might have helped Savile."

Oh dear, those sources had better get their meds adjusted!
