	Just what is wrong with the muppets (using the word, Muppets to avoid an unallocated vacation if I voice my real thoughts) in charge at the BBC? Do todays comedians lack the hard work & entertaining of past masters, that they have to resort to f'ing blinding & host shows such as this: - Fury over BBC Documentary Mr Maxwell, care to come to my town? I can guarantee you instant fame....... ...you'll be the 1st live leprechaun to appear on TV! ____________

	Our networks have been broadcasting crap for years. There once was a time when cable did have decent shows. Now that they have an audiance they are showing crap also. I blame twitter and facebook:) Young kids dont watch tv so the networks have to be more stupid to catch their attenttion. ____________

Conspiracy Theories abound and none more absurd and sickening than 7/7 So to see these people exposed was something that needed to be done and to rubbish some of these theories IS the job of a public broadcaster. I am glad they had relatives challenge the people and all but one were questioning their beliefs by the end of the program. I had no idea you were in Russell Square. So you realise that getting to the bottom of what happened is important. I was in London that day. Mistakes were made but this program highlighted them as just that, mistakes not conspiracy. At no time did the "BBC" suggest there was any credence to these theories and Andrew Maxwell at all times was clear that he did not believe a word they said. Not an easy program to watch but I have more respect for Andrew Maxwell after seeing this. ____________

	Good reply. Yes I was there & it took 17 hours to get the hell out of London & back home. 9/11 & the constant broadcast crap that has permeated the media since should have at least proved to the BBC that there really is no point in giving those wacko's air time. Not one thought has been given to the families of the deceased & as far as I'm concerned, that in itself is despicable. 	The BBC should no longer be licenced, let them earn their living the same way as the others. How could they possibly when all commercial broadcasting has been handed over to Rupert Murdoch and SKY. I know who I would rather have. I would willingly pay extra on my TV licence to get rid of that abomination and hand all the channels to the BBC and Virgin media. Sorry but SKY is after one thing, money. And we have seen how his companies go about getting it. And because of where I live I can't even have Virgin Media ____________

Comedian Andrew Maxwell thinks this is nonsense and, in an effort to tackle the truth, is taking four such conspiracy-believers on a road trip from Leeds to London to recreate the exact journey the bombers took. Each of them believes a different conspiracy theory - from claiming the train times were falsified by the government to the idea that home-made bombs could never have caused such damage. Not having watched the program at all, I would like to comment on this part since you brought up terrorists and 9/11: How else are you supposed to highlight a particular thread of thought, examine it, and show the world why that type of thinking is wrong? The only way you're going to do it is by talking about it; bringing it out into the open and asking people for their thoughts on the subject, and correcting/challenging people when you believe they're wrong. That is the very basis for freedom of speech, and that seems to be the very point for the Politics thread. I imagine it's the reason why Matt Giwer was allowed to speak his anti-semetic hatred here. No one is necessarily giving people a free forum for which to spew their hatred; they're being exposed for the frauds they are. If they persist, the whole world turning their metaphorical back on them is the ultimate message. Not talking about these things is the worst thing you can do. I would only hope that the victims of the families understand this. Too many subjects are considered taboo, and we never learn from those mistakes because no one wants to confront them. The bravest thing a victim's family could do is to allow the talking to happen in hopes that people will gain a better understanding of why something was wrong. Bernie even said that all but one were already re-thinking their positions - that's the best thing that could happen and the victim's families should be elated over this.

It's too big (not in the I'm Worried Guy big gubment, necessarily, but, big in some sense) for secrets not to get out. But, wait. Where's the evidence? Any data to back this up? If not, well, I am comfortable believing that they can keep a lot more secrets than most of you could believe, and this whole "gubment's too big for us to keep a secret" has been a major part of their disinformation scheme.

I don't think the government is too big to keep a secret. I think that a big secret is hard to keep. The bigger the secret, the more people involved, the greater chance for something to slip, and data would be found.

	The quality of the BBC program is consistently better than US tv. Having lived with both guess what our favourite programmes on TV here in Canada are? The ones the BBC makes and sells abroad. I miss the quality documentaries. I miss News Night. I miss the excellent quality drama shows that aren't ALL about cops/lawyers/crimefighting of some sort (seriously, there are other subjects for TV shows out there America!!!) I miss the awesome ground breaking nature programs. I even miss the so called "popular" dramas like EastEnders and Casualty which you don't realise how good they are until you see some of the utter pap shown on US tv. I miss the comedy shows. I really miss them. There are very few good topical comedy shows here. Oh BBC. I miss you, I want you back, they BBC world channel here just shows endless repeats of Top Gear. Whhhhhhy??? Get rid of the BBC and replace it with what? The only channel really worth watching here is HBO and that is a premium pay channel which costs more a month than the TV licence...and they repeat everything to death. ____________ In the beginning the Universe was created.
