My Boinc Manager keeps bombing out with these two messages in the event log. What is going on? A corrupted file somewhere? Is there any chance your battery died? You can try to update the time via the Internet and see if it corrects the problem. I CMOS battery will cause the machine to lose time settings, but that usually shows up on a reboot. Interestingly these batteries are really only used "when the power is off". If the machine is powered on for long periods you can apparently get up to 10 years out the battery as it never does any work! Only actually discharging when the power is actually unplugged. |

That's why I loved the "Dallas" quartz chips on early computers. Off for months at a time, boot up into the correct time & settings. |
