I have had no new work for a while now and I was wondering if everything is going OK. I looked on the Server page and saw that nitpicker is disabled. Would that cause me not to get any new work?

Same thing is happening to Einstein@Home too. Don't know if it is related or not.

Thanks in advance,
Jim

NITPCKR is a post post processing program, and has nothing to do with work being sent.

If all of your projects are not downloading, then it is quite possibly you.

First check to see if there are outages at all of your projects. If not, then it is a setting problem or a perception problem.

1) Do you have any work from anywhere? If so, how much? What are your work queue settings?

If you have sufficient work from anywhere that is more than "Maintain enough work for X days", you will not get any more until some of that is burned off.

2) The buttons that control work fetch and project suspension show the action that will occur, not the current state. If the button says "resume ..." that means things are currently disabled. On the tasks and project tabs of the advanced view, what buttons are showing? This is per project or task, so you have to click on the project or task before the button shows correctly.

3) In the advanced view, activity menu, what is checked?

Set "Maintain enough work for X days" to 10 days
Activity - Run based on preferences
Use CPU - Run based on preferences
Network activity - Run based on preferences

I have an Nvidia 550 Ti - GPU-Z says it is OpenCL 1.1 capable

Any resolutions?

Message 1289487 - Posted: 29 Sep 2012, 20:55:20 UTC - in response to Message 1289472.

Set "Maintain enough work for X days" to 10 days
Activity - Run based on preferences
Use CPU - Run based on preferences
Network activity - Run based on preferences

I have an Nvidia 550 Ti - GPU-Z says it is OpenCL 1.1 capable

9/29/2012 8:19:18 AM | | App version needs OpenCL but GPU doesn't support it
9/29/2012 8:19:18 AM | SETI@home | Application uses missing NVIDIA GPU

This part right here is telling you that you are not using the correct video drivers; the ones you are using are missing the OpenCL extension to support crunching on your video card. Try updating your video driver if you wish to use your GPU.

9/29/2012 8:19:18 AM | | Reading preferences override file

This line is telling you that you are using local preferences, so many preferences set online will be ignored. Nothing to be alarmed about, just making you aware of which preferences will be used.

9/29/2012 8:19:18 AM | Einstein@Home | Task p2030.20110122.G194.76-00.64.C.b6s0g0.00000_3776_2 is 1.45 days overdue; you may not get credit for it. Consider aborting it.

This line is letting you know that BOINC is likely running in Earliest Deadline First mode, trying to get this result completed even though it is late. Some projects will still award credit for late work, but not all do. However, in most cases, while your computer is trying to reach deadlines, it may not fetch more work because it wants to make sure it finishes what it has before it gets more.

9/29/2012 8:36:41 AM | SETI@home | Sending scheduler request: To fetch work.
9/29/2012 8:36:41 AM | SETI@home | Requesting new tasks for CPU and NVIDIA
9/29/2012 8:41:51 AM | SETI@home | Scheduler request failed: Timeout was reached
9/29/2012 8:41:54 AM | | Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site
9/29/2012 8:41:57 AM | | Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down.

These lines are telling you that it is unable to reach the SETI@Home servers, primarily because SETI@Home's internet bandwidth is completely saturated, causing many requests to be unable to reach the servers. Sometimes opening a command prompt and typing "IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS" fixes the problem if it is a DNS issue.

9/29/2012 8:43:17 AM | SETI@home | [error] App version uses non-existent NVIDIA GPU
9/29/2012 8:43:17 AM | SETI@home | [error] Missing coprocessor for task ap_31my12ab_B5_P1_00265_20120915_04233.wu_1; aborting

These lines are telling you that you used to have the proper video driver to support GPU crunching, but something went wrong (an improper driver upgrade?), and no it can no longer crunch those workunits.

While the download server is not behaving properly there is very little point in changing your cache settings.

As I type there are no new "tapes" being split, so nobody is getting new tasks. Last time this happened the lab was doing something pretty significant to the servers and wanted to have as clear a sheet as possible.
Hang on in there, and they will arrive - one day.
