I know what you are saying Sirius. We have all seen local eccentrics that live on their own in reclusive lives, happy in their own little dream world. But this guy seems to have a bit more intelligence than that. I would rather laugh with him than at him.

But you see what I mean?

The Israeli government are currently making preparations for the event.

I happen to know the town he lives in because when I went to Ireland a few years ago to visit County Mayo, there was a possibility I might have gone further South. He said he would buy me a pint if I ever got there. One day I might, just might, still just take him up on that. Hope I would get out alive!

Yeah, you'll be ok. It won't be a question of discussing religion, you'll be too busy enjoying our laid back attitudes, food & drink, as well as the beauty of the country (& it's beauties)....:)

Thanks Chris,
I take that as a compliment!

If you are coming over across the water, the offer still stands. I will buy you a pint and we can have a laugh about this in the pub :)

John.

One day I'll take you up on that, but in the meantime do lay off the religion, it's not doing your health any good!

We were in Ireland in the spring of 2008. I found the NW part of Ireland very nice, lovely countryside, especially Connemara National Park. We went to Cong where the famous film the Quiet man was filmed, as far south as Galway, lovely town. Blacksod Bay, and across to Sligo. Unusually warm for the west Atlantic coast. People were friendly, but the economy had collapsed and there were many hundreds of brand new detached houses with no buyers. And of course election posters everywhere.

The reason for the trip was to find a place called Glencastle in Kilcommon Parish, where my Great Great Grandfather was born, who was apparently a Baptist Preacher in the mid 1800's. All that is there now is a crossroads in the middle of nowhere, the village doesn't exist any more.

Pssst - don't tell John I have Irish religious links OK?
