Lori and I watched Avatar again tonight.
And I once again realized what a wonderful and insightful film it is.

I am also somewhat humbled and saddened that the human race cannot learn the lessons of the Na'vi.....

That we are all one on this planet.
That we are all one with this planet.
That all life is sacred.
And that the reason for mankind waging war on others many times has less to do with the reasons given than with our greed to obtain something that does not belong to us.

I guess you had to be there. She was once as sleek and pretty as Neytiri ever was. The seeds of the Tree of Life fell upon me the first day we met.

So glad people are finally listening. I was president of the Environmental Club in High School. That was in '72, 40 years ago. Since then I have been living and teaching about the oneness and interconnectedness of man and the mother(earth).
There are people who are listening.
I am now building the worlds largest solar power plant. Thank you Warren Buffett for putting up the money.

I know it's your thread, but I agree with Karl Sagan, we are made of star dust. For the human race to survive we must return to the stars. The earth is our space ship, and it is powered by the sun. But it will die. Billions of years yes, but it will died. Yes we must learn to love one another for only the power that come from from working on a collective goal. Only as one nation and one people can we hope to overcome complex mission of extended space flight. And it is only by seeding other planets that we can hope to survive.
Love one another, learn to live in peace and harmony, but remember our destiny is not before us, it is above us.
(and I am not talking about a little old man in clouds).

Makes real sense, Carlos but we have to maintain the planet for many more generations to come. Humans still have to survive a long time on this planet and we shouldn't look to far ahead. We have to start with here and now.

We must overcome our relentless pursuit of war and spend the money instead on extending our search for humanly habitable other worlds. We are getting close to expending the capacity of our dear Earth to sustain us. Closer than some realize.
You think that my Seti searches are just a game? No.....
I believe it is for the survival of the human genome as we now know it.

I search for Seti. Because I hope to be able to prove one day that God, as I know and understand Him, did not JUST create life here on Earth, but may have also done so in distant places that the biblical documentation could not have known about.

This is my quest. We are a very special set of genes and bits of DNA that God somehow cobbled together. The very complexity of the way our bodies function day to day is simply beyond comprehension at times. Medical science is only now starting to unravel how we work.

It astounds me to this day. But, life as we now know it, shall come to a close when the Earth we inhabit can no longer give us what we need to survive. And that is our own fault, not God's. He set the thing in motion and gave us all we would need to survive for eons. We have misused it all. Now, we have to figure out what to do to save our lives and those of our children.
