Not a UFO because the article says that there was a rocket that burnt up due to malfunction so "UFO" is probably a piece of that rocket. I looks human made also.

That's because they were parts of a Russian rocket carrying a communications satellite that fell back to Earth minutes after lift-off. ;-)

OMG, is this the same Russia that the US of A pays for rides? The shame of it all.

Story is a day late or so late.

Chile Releases Official Study on UFO Photos

The government office investigating UFOs in Chile has released an analysis of two high quality photos showing what appear be genuine unidentified flying objects above a remote copper mine. The office, known as the CEFAA (Committee for the Studies of Anomalous Aerial Phenomena), is located within the Ministerial Department of Civil Aeronautics (DGAC), the equivalent of our FAA, under the jurisdiction of the Chilean Air Force. It is responsible for the analysis of selected reports of unexplained aerial phenomena in Chilean airspace, most of them from pilots and aviation personnel.

The Phoenix lights: Lets see radars in the area Deep Space radar, Norrad, Luke AFB, Surrounding private and commercial radars in the area 15 sites. A hummingbird couldnt fly thru this area and not be seen. Now for fully armed and jet jocks wanting to shoot something down and in the AIR. Now if all these radars saying there is nothing there that they dont know about OPFORs training is confidential and they are forewarned about training because they route away from the area.Wasnt any UFO in this area.

Our senses, especially our eyes can play so many tricks on our brains making us believe what we want to believe more than what actually occurred. There is a tall radio tower near where I live and it has several rows of bright white lights with a red flashing light at the top. from some locations in my yard it is partially obscured by some nearer tall trees. Sometimes when I take my dog outside at night if I turn my head abruptly toward or away from the towers the lights look like they are moving in formation briefly. I am not saying that the people in Arizona or elsewhere saw nothing but I don't believe they saw alien spacecraft.

The brain works in mysterious ways. We all have a different perception of things we see and experience as well. People who have a vivid imagination will see a UFO in something much quicker than a more realistic person.

what?? no sonic boom ??

The human perception has been likened to 3000 frames per second. Most likely this id beyond this guy's camera's capability.

This can go here I guess, Farmer may hold UFO clue to 36-year Valentich plane mystery.

Cheers.

How very intriguing... thanks Wiggo :)

In a word "Rubbish". Unworthy of serious discussion. Aha--The usual blurry picture; the absence of any proof.

They always are blurry... looks like it could be something caught up in a sheet that blew off someone's washing line... which doesn't help any serious discussion :) But the written report of the pilot's last transmission was interesting... of course his next words could have been... oh... it's a sheet off someone's washing line...

edit: would that mean an above average sized bed do you think...?

A very big 1 if the plane was stuck to it. ;-)

Cheers.

A saw a very strange 'hovering' light in the sky in Poitiers, France. It looked like a fireball and it moved very slowly to the right. It most certainly was not a plane or drone or something like that. It couldn't have been a fireball either as it stayed bright all the time... I'll stop now before you people think I'm a total Lunatic (well I am a Lunatic but that's only at Seti:)))

I honestly have never seen anything remotely odd or strange in the sky. I did once think one night (as I was walking home in the dark) that I was being tracked (or something else moving at the same speed as me was) from a very very VERY long way away by three potential UFO's flying in formation. I was really disappointed when I worked out it was raindrops hanging from some overhead wires that were much much closer to me and simply reflecting light from nearby street lights.

My other half however did see... possibly a fireball I'm not sure, in daylight, a few years ago now, which he got REALLY excited about :) he rang up all sorts of official organisations he thought might be interested in it and was crushed when no one was... It sounds similar to what you described seeing in France Julie... so IS interesting indeed :)

It is very much, but so darn mysterious... I hate mysteries at times...(especially in Science) The only thing you can do, is to keep quiet (before they put you in psychiatry or something...) if you see something like that, and you really can't explain what it was. I only saw them 'UFO's' two times now...

A fireball in the sky (especially during the day ) is a meteorite. They can appear to be moving almost horizontally and not too fast.

As I was walking in procession into the church for my Conformation ceremony in Key West Florida we heard an explosion in the sky. Looking up we saw a fireball moving across the sky in what appeared to be a low altitude. Pieces broke off and you could hear the sizzling sound as it passed almost directly overhead. The speed seemed to be slow--maybe a few hundred miles per hour. It was impossible to gauge speed, size and altitude since there was no object to act as a point of reference in the sky.

The next day the Navy at Boca Chica Naval Air Station stated that it was indeed a meteorite that landed in the ocean near Cuba-some 90 miles away. Since we heard the sonic boom it must have been traveling more than 600 miles per hour. In those days sonic booms were common from the jet fighters at the Naval Air Station so we knew what the sound indicated.

COMMON SENSE: Every radar in this area is the state of the art in radars. Space Commnad, NORAD,Luke AFB,White Sands Missle test range,Almagorgo, Civilian and military radars bristle thru this area. If it is smaller than a hummingbird they would see it.
Luke AFB: Armed aircraft in the air and havent shot nothing down all night you think these jet jocks or their command and control wouldnt allow intrusion in to a OPFORs training mission. They are secret. Any military or civilian radar knows exactly whats in the sky or its a smoking wreck.
Look at the video time the lights as they appear every 2 seconds. Flares on F16 has a selector for 2/4/6 second interval on flares.
They were aircraft flares and Ive seen thousands of them in Veitnam. These are over the AIRFORCE BASE DURNING OPFORs TRAINING.

Of course UFOs are real! A UFO is just an Unidentified Flying Object, which means that it could literally be anything! If something fell out of an airplane while it was flying over me, that would be a UFO. (until it hits me that is)
