I've been having problems with CUDA tasks on my dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti card system since initially upgrading to V7 of BOINC with my CUDA tasks. At first it appeared that they ran for a short time and then finished with computation errors no matter which project they were from. After some time and possibly an upgrade to V7.0.28, none of my projects were downloading CUDA work units. That is except for Moo! Wrapper; which did download tasks, but didn't run them. After posting on the Moo! Wrapper message board, someone there suggested reverting back to BOINC V7.0.25. At first this seemed to fix the problem with Einstein@Home, DistRTgen and SETI@home, but later that day I looked and found no tasks on my computer for SETI@home. The tasks that I saw downloading are listed as being on my computer (http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=6293163), but are not in my work queue. Reverting to V7.0.25 has allowed for Einstein@Home CUDA tasks to run to completion as well as a single DistRTgen task. The problem with Moo!Wrapper is still present in this version. The tasks download, but do not run. I can't see anything in the event log lines you posted that indicates a problem with BOINC or S@H. The "missing" work is most likely "ghost units" that S@H tried to send you but never arrived due to a scheduler timeout. You'll note that all 30 units were sent at the same time. If you have enough event log history to go back to Saturday evening 7:58:00 PM (pac daylight time, adjust for your timezone), you should see a line for S@H that says "scheduler request failed; timeout was reached" Normally, BOINC would ask for work again shortly, and the "missing" units would come through in groups of up to 20, saying "resent lost task". If this hasn't happened, the only thing I can think of is that BOINC has been asking your other projects for work, and hasn't needed to request again from S@H. When it does, you should get the missing work as previously mentioned. I don't know about the other projects you're running, but most users here have tossed 7.0.25 due to some rather serious bugginess, IIRC. Some are using 7.0.28, but most of the "power crunchers" are still running 6.10.58 or 6.12.34. |

Hi, Actually, my problem is the opposite. I am receiving ONLY CUDA workunits and the six-core main processors are without any seti non-CUDA workunits. My other machines (without CUDA) continue to receive seti non-CUDA workunits. Suggestions????? Thanks, Jim |

Hi, Well, I took the advice and lowered the "Maintain enough tasks ..." from 7 to 2, then 1, then 0 (a couple of days apart) and still received ONLY cuda tasks. Next, I drained my queue and uploaded all results, uninstalled BOINC, rebooted and reinstalled BOINC 7.0.28 (x64) with widgets 2.8.10. NOW.....I am receiving ONLY non-cuda tasks. I did reinstall the copy of Lunatics (Lunatics_Win64v0.37_(SSE3+)_AP505r409_AKv8bx64_Cudax32f) that I had been previously using because a new one seems to be unavailable due to some licensing issue. Still no cuda tasks! Any more suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Jim Wright |

I only now checked - you don't have (or BOINC do not detect) any computer with NVIDIA CUDA GPU: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/hosts_user.php?userid=38734 Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |

Hi, Interesting, The JCW-OEM-11 machine has the Cuda processor and was the one processing only CUDA work until I uninstalled/reinstalled BOINC and rebooted. The NVIDIA Control Panel tells me I have 352 CUDA Cores on the GeForce GTX 465 card with 4GB graphics memory and 1GB dedicated video memory. The Driver version is 306.23 and DirecX support is 11.1. The card continues to support twin displays (ViewSonic VX2450wmLED at 1920/1080. Stereoscopic 3D is not enabled. What else would help you help me? Thanks, Jim Wright |

The JCW-OEM-11 machine ... Only you see the names, for us give ID: - it is probably 6262670 - it had have at some point 'SETI@home Enhanced (anonymous platform, nvidia GPU)' tasks (Number of tasks completed 36143): http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/host_app_versions.php?hostid=6262670 If you didn't change the NVIDIA Driver recently: then you very probably installed BOINC with "Protected application execution" (which disables GPU computing) To remedy: Uninstall BOINC (task/prefs will be preserved - do not delete anything manually) Install BOINC again and on the "Advanced" Uncheck "Protected application execution" Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |

Thanks, you were spot-on. BOINC is now asking for CUDA tasks, unfortunately, there seem to be none available at the moment. Jim Wright |

I have started getting SETI@home tasks once again. It appears that BOINC V7.0.25 fixed my issuses with downloading CUDA tasks for my dual NVIDIA cards. I still haven't found a solution to getting my Moo! Wrapper CUDA tasks to run, but that's for another message board. David Bean - KC2WUF |

Hello from Istanbul, My credit seems ziro (0) every time. Is it works or doesn't work. I can't understend. Why? Tukce'sini de yazayim belki okuyan olur :) Bilgisayarim yeni. Nvidia grafik kartim var. CPU ile ilgili bir seyler okudum ama anlayamadim pek. Screensaver'a geçiyor ama bilgi alip verme goremiyorum. kredim hep sifir. Yanlis yaptigim bir sey oldugunu da sanmiyorum. Neden ise yaramiyor ogrenmek istiyorum. Bundan 9-10 sene once eski klasik setihome canavar gibi calisiyordu. Epey kredi yapmistim. o kredilerimde gozukmuyor simdi. Yardimci olabilecek biri cikarsa cok sevirim. Sevgiler, Betul. |
